I find him to be incredibly creepy, and I was wondering if it was just me.

I like that Somebody That I Used to Know song, but I haven't seen the video (just a still from it... looks creepy enough that I don't want to ruin the song by seeing the video.) The radio has started playing another song of his but it doesn't really stand out, so maybe a one hit wonder? Meh, what do I know?

Yeah, agreed on basically everything.

He's just weird. I don't understand the hype.

We already have one Peter Gabriel. Don't need another. I hate the song everyone likes by him.

I don't find him creepy but don't get what all the fuss is about. Somebody I Used To Know is a decent pop song, but I think it needs a more powerful singer. I actually preferred the version performed on Glee.

Definitely overrated! I don't think the song sucks, but yeah.

I rather the Elliot Smith Somebody I Used to Know, that's all I ever want to hear when that song comes on. Also, the way it is pronounced I thought it should be spelled Gaultier.

I voted one hit wonder because I listened to the album and it's crepe aside from somebody that I used to know.

I think that song is actually one of the weaker ones on the album.

My friend got me two of his albums ("Making Mirrors" and "Like Drawing Blood") and I absolutely love them both. I don't listen to the radio or watch TV, so I had no idea he had gotten so popular until Pentatonix covered "Somebody That I Used To Know".



I think it's really cool that an indie artist has gotten this popular. I really like that he has a style that's his own and doesn't sound like it came out of a can like a lot of the other pop music out there. I can see how it's not the kind of sound that everyone will easily appreciate, which is why I was so surprised to find out he'd suddenly become so popular! But personally, I really like his music.

ugh, thank god it's not just me. everybody on my FB list seems to be breathlessly in awe of this guy, but he just bothers me. when i first saw a post about the song i thought "oh cool, an Elliott Smith cover," but alas, i was sorely mistaken. i've only seen the video once and have no desire to watch it or hear the song ever again. i may even need brain bleach to get rid of the visual of the naked painted dude making pained-looking faces and repeatedly shouting "sum-BAH-DEE!!"

I will say that I called my sister yesterday and she was watching this talked-about video, while her boyfriend was recommending she immediately search for videos of Wayne Brady singing at weddings.

I like "Somebody That I Used to Know" because it's kinda creepy. He has one other song that I like - "Hearts a Mess" - that's similarly creepy. I don't like any of his other stuff because it sounds too pop-y and happy.

The animation style for STIUTK is really similar to "Sledgehammer" (where they used stop motion to animate the clouds moving across Peter Gabriel's face). I kinda like it. But maybe because I think "Sledgehammer" is the best video ever made.
