I don't see a thread yet about Dave Brubeck's passing yesterday. He almost made it to 92. Thank you for some great music that will live on long after you Dave Brubeck!

I grew up on his music, and when he died I expected to get his LP collection, but my stepmom gave them away and/or tossed them, not even asking his three kids if we wanted them.

The only Brubeck I own is his Disney album, and you better believe I played it in his memory when I heard he died.

Take Five is one of those pieces you've heard a zillion times, but each time you do, it's still fresh & exciting. I defy anyone to keep their toes from tapping & fingers from snapping. Heaven is *way* cooler now Mr Brubeck's in the house!

No! That's just wrong. I'm sorry.

By "he" I meant my dad. This was over 5 years ago now and my younger brother and I are still annoyed at the things she did after our dad's death.
