I saw this on Friday with my boyfriend and the first thing we did was go home and dance to Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch's "Good Vibrations."

Anyone else see it? I really liked it! I guess I was expecting more of a rom-com about him reconciling his porn addiction with his relationship with ScarJo,

Spoiler: show
but I wasn't expecting (and ended up really liking) the idea that her character would end up being not his dream girl but just a selfish jerk and he would end up with foxy Julianne Moore.

I thought Brie Larson was hilarious as his sister. And my boyfriend and I got into a fight over whether Tony Danza was over sixty and I WON (he's 62).

I loved it! It was so freaking well edited I can't even stand it. I love when things are well edited :) And yeah, I think I was grinning like a fool when he was driving and singing along to Good Vibrations. I too loved that
Spoiler: show
ScarJo kind of sucked, wanting him to change everything to be a more appropriate match for her.
And I was impressed with how he worked in his relationship with his church so subtly to reflect his growth. I love JGL.

I reviewed it this weekend on the ol' blog if anyone wants to read about it. Also, if you see it, don't see it with your father and his old man friends. Tis awkward as asparagus.

I went to see this last weekend too, and I really enjoyed it. At first I was a little uncomfortable seeing JGL and Scarlett Johansson looking like Jersey Shore cast members! I thought the dynamic in their relationship was interesting, and turned out to be much more complex than I'd expected - I like the sister's assessment on the relationship at the end too. And I thought his character had a really interesting arc. It was an enjoyable film but also dealt with a deeper issue (the prevalence of porn) quite well.

i really really REALLY liked it!

Spoiler: show
i loved that they didn't ever say anything about the sister playing with her phone all the time, but i loved that you could tell that she was also paying attention to what was around her.

i loved that it exposed the fact that young people usually don't see the long term effects of their actions on other people. (or that other people are people with their own agendas and lives, really.)

i loved that it pointed out that romance films are essentially porn for women (disregarding the leading man's feelings/opinions) and that commercials are pretty much porn.

i loved how it pointed out the hypocrisy of doing "sinful" things and then "confessing" them and then not changing.

i also felt so bad that he had no idea what love was, that he thought what he had with ScarJo was the best he was ever going to have. after all, he had no role models. :-( i hope his dad gets a tivo.

oh, it broke my heart his face when she ran her fingers through his hair.
also, of course i love anything JGL does.

I, too, love JGL! I want to see this, but when the boyfriend and I saw the preview in theaters, I got the idea that he thought it might be ridiculous. Will try to convince a friend to go with me! (Or see it alone, maybe.)

he was on the howard stern show, and it was pretty good. (it's unfortunate though that stern was putting words into JGL's mouth. i don't know why he's so popular if he's not a very good listener. aren't interviewers by nature supposed to be good listeners?)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIrUHo9U82U

and because of stern's bad listening/interpretation skills, the NY daily news reports on incorrect information. hrmph. HRMPH! anyway, it's about 50 minutes long.
