HabitRPG.com! A neat, free way to gamify your To Do lists and reward yourself for changing your habits.

I've always been an excellent list-maker, but seldom accomplished the stuff on my magnificent lists. Now instead of ignoring those lists (whether out of sloth or forgetfulness), I'm checking my task lists multiple times every day to see how I can earn new armor for my avatar--- and tackling junk I've put off for MONTHS, just in hopes of earning a new pixel-y pet and gold.

As a depressive, lethargic person, any motivational tool that works for me feels like a gift from the gods. I've been using HabitRPG for a a month or two now, and am a big fan.

I used to use an app called "Epic Win" with a similar approach to rewarding oneself for doing mundane chores, but it was totally unsupported and felt unfinished. HabitRPG is well-rounded and has more features; it feels like a game.

How many Habiteers are also PPKers?

This was mentioned in a different thread - of course I can't remember which - but I should really look into this.

I'm on HabitRPG! Early adopter, have the veteran and Kickstarter backer achievements to prove it. I've been a little frustrated with the pace of progress (the app, the Android version at least, lacks some of the features of the full desktop version, but the latter doesn't show up properly on my mobile browser even in desktop view), but it's been handy. I think I've been reading more, remembering my reusable grocery bag, and taking my B12 more regularly. Progress?

The app is frustrating on iPhone as well. I can only see half of my UUID, for example, and can't communicate with my party.

I use HabitRPG for B12 reminders, too! Also flossing, getting ready for bed BEFORE I'm half-asleep.... all kinds o' stuff. Progress indeed!

I LOVE the way the tasks change color over time. My sense of how much time has passed, so I can easily convince myself it's only been two days since I worked out when it's actually been *cough cough cough* Those dark red tasks keep me honest.

I signed up! I found a vegetarian & vegan guild, should we start a PPK guild?

I've been considering subscribing. If any demand for a PPK HabitRPG guild arises, I'll bite the bullet.

I signed up for this recently after seeing it (I think) in the playground. Not sure I get the guilds yet, but I love checking things off to do lists and getting rewarding for doing things I'm supposed to be doing. (You washed the dishes? Let me shower you with gold coins!) I'm also working on setting reasonable expectations for myself.

Isn't it fantastic? "You did some push-ups--- take a hatching potion!" They recently added little fanfares, which I will appreciate once they stop startling me.

Reasonable expectations are tough. For years, I've been setting bars waaaaaay too high and then hating myself for not magically achieving perfection. I'm getting better at slow, steady progress toward measurable goals, and the shower of gold coins helps a lot.

To create a party: create a party, name it, and ask your HabitRPG friends to send you their UUIDs so you can invite them in. You'll be able to see each other's avatars and stats, but NOT each other's tasks. There's also a chat function for talking with your party and it IS available on the app. I was mistaken yesterday, sorry!

I found a quest at level 15. I don't know if this means they're all findable, but if not I'll buy some gems.

I'm on there! I'm not sure it functions quite right on my tablet? I don't use an app, as I have a surface and I have just assumed it doesn't have one. But it keeps telling me to use Chrome and I can't. All I know is that I feed my pets but the bar underneath doesn't move :(

But I have been levelling, so that is something! I may be into a guild! Currently I am in a group with my roommate, but we are moving so who knows.

Either way, I'm not sure how we quest, exactly. I know I clicked for it, but I'm not sure how it happens.

(ps- it WAS in the playground, as I suggested it to Torque, who is having a hard time getting Baggy to do things, and I thought geeky external validation may do the trick!)

Ack! That would get to me. Are you feeding them the foods they really like, or random food to random pets? I can't remember if the bar moves visibly if you feed the pet a non-favorite food. Surely it must.

Ooh, do you know if it helped Baggy? Geeky external validation is mighty.

At first I was hesitant to buy the leather armor, forgetting for a moment that it was only BROWN PIXELS. Not leather, brain, not leather.

The quest scroll will be on your Market/Inventory page. Click it, read about it, and click "invite" at the bottom to invite your party members.

After that, you can see the quest's status on the left-hand side of your Party page. Once everyone's accepted (or you've chosen to start without them) you can read the little quest story, what to expect, and what the reward for completing the quest will be.
