is anyone planning to watch this? it's airing right now, and again (a re-run) the hour afterward on abc family. i don't know much about it at all, except that it's by the same people who brought us gilmore girls, so i'm watching the pilot just based off that.

plus, kelly bishop!

I missed it, but the Gilmore Girls thing is why I was interested in watching.

I recorded it, will probably watch it tonight.

Horrible title, but I ADORE Sutton Foster, so I'm watching for her.

I just watched it on Hulu. It was cute, but I would have known it was by the same people who did Gilmore Girls even if I hadn't been told that before watching it.

just watched the pilot. I thought it was cute too. Definitely reminds me of gilmore girls, but that might just be the comedic timing and bluntness of the main character reminds me of Lauren Graham.

oh wow, the plot just got even weirder at end! yikes! i kinda want to watch the next one. It was Gilmore Girls-ish, but seemed to kind of be missing something.

i know! twist! the next one is on tonight already, so i hope you're ready.

i tentatively like it. the strummy la-la music was SOOO gilmore girls, but i spend a lot of time wishing the main character was lorelai instead. the ballet class looks promising, though. some cute characters in there.

haha yeah, the music is what made it feel so gilmore girls-y. at first i felt like the relationship between michelle and emily gilmore was so forced the way it went from SUPER COLD to WE LOVE EACH OTHER NOW! but, i see why they did it that way.
But dammit, i'm supposed to be writing my thesis! i'm not supposed to be watching tv tonight!

Just watched the first two episodes. I suspect I may get hooked.

I do love the randomness that reminds me of Gilmore Girls (like the guy asking her to walk the dog, Fanny's friends over and talking about the people who live in the town). I think I could definitely get hooked, too, GWGJ.

I really do like this show, but I feel like I'm in an alternative universe of Gilmore Girls. I know that in the interview with ASP posted above she said that this is her niche, but I hope it branches out a bit more.

"la la la, la la la, la la la" So GG!

I don't mind it, the premise is a bit out-there but I think it'll be fun!

are you guys still watching? i think it's growing on me. i went through a phase where i was getting a little frustrated, like the episode with the moving truck--that entire scene honestly may as well have been lorelai, and then i get irritated because it isn't--but i might be over the hump now. i feel like i'm starting to learn who these characters are now, a little.

i think i'm liking more. i didn't watch last night's yet, but the previous episode with the dance recital was pretty good. i was super annoyed by the first few episodes, but i kept watching for reasons unknown and i think it's growing on me, too.

I'm still watching, too, but haven't seen last night's episode yet. The possum in her bed scene cracked me up. I do think Michelle talks a lot like Lorelai, but she acts a lot more helpless (the curtain scene? Argh--of course a suspension rod needs something to suspend between!).

haha yeah. she acts way too dumb! and i'm sure it's supposed to be just an act, but i don't think we've really seen much to show that she's not as dumb as she's acting. for someone who has supposedly lived alone a lot, she has some serious issues taking care of herself.

oh, and um..vegas isn't THAT from where she is in california. she could have easily left and packed up her apartment herself.

I wasn't going to watch it, but I caught the pilot when there was nothing else on, and I got sucked in.
I've been getting a little frustrated with the slowness of the storyline though. I feel like the show is supposed to be about her teaching dance classes, because otherwise I don't really see a point of her hanging around. So I'm bothered by the fact that she hangs around doing nothing.

What other show is the guy who played Connor, the director, in? It's not on imdb and it's bugging me, was he in Gilmore Girls?

And I'm still watching, there are lots of scenes that annoy me, but it's entertaining
