I almost never find out when albums I want are coming out ahead of time, I buy my music from amazon and their recommendations are balls. They will never tell me when a band, whose other albums I bought from them, come out with a new album, but make some horrible suggestions.

Um. I got the new Tegan and Sara, and Mother Mother's album was finally released in the US. That's it so far.

i feel like Wild Flag should have an album this year. i know their last leg of touring they were playing some new songs.

they dont appear to have a real website so i dont know if they actually recorded anyting but i feel like maybe they should release something this year.....cause i said so.

or Carrie and Janet should do the right thing and go find Corin and have a Sleater-Kinney reunion so my heart feels whole again

I wasn't much of a Tegan and Sara fan before, but I love their new album. It's so 80's.

I just acquired Karl Bartos' new album, "Off The Record", which was recreated from various tapes he made over the past 30 or 40 years. He clearly has mixed feelings about his days in Kraftwerk-- his music is evocative of Kraftwerk but clearly not the same thing at all. I like it, though. A couple of songs will get some heavy play over the next couple of weeks.

Didn't care much for the new Tegan and Sara. It's like they completely abandoned their old indie rock sound for synth pop. I don't think there's even one guitar on the whole album. There's a couple good songs, but not what I'd want from T&S.

Big Boi: Vicious Lies - really good pairings...lots of electronic and indie clashes!

I bought the Tegan & Sara when it came out, I listened to it once...I need to check it out again.

Really? Because I get the exact opposite-- I bought ONE John Hartford album (since I was nostalgic for my Dad's music) and, totally disregarding years of buying synthpop and industrial and stuff like _Einstein On The Beach_, suddenly my recommendations were ALL BLUEGRASS. Seriously, I don't need that much bluegrass.

Oh my. I LOVE the new T&S. Absolutely they've moved on from their original sound (and have said in interviews about unabashedly going more 'mainstream', I guess), but I think it's a bit more gradual than out of the blue with the keyboards? They've been using them for a while now, and are still using guitars- though it's more obvious in the live renditions of tracks from this album than the recorded version, I suppose. But yeah, I listened to it on repeat even day until the Suede album came out. LOVE.

I really like the new tegan and sara. I've never listened to them before, but it sounds like the soundtrack to a rad 80s prom.

I just heard a bit of the new Kate Nash and I think I should get it. I liked her first album but more in a "its cute but I still feel strange about liking something so twee" . Does anyone have the 2013 one? I really like this song:

Edit: I just understood this song isnt on the 2013 album but a song from 2012 that isnt on a record. Mhm. Still like the direction anyway.

my boyfriend bought me Lil Wayne - I am Human 2 today...he outdid himself with this album, most songs have at least 5 references to his penis in each song...

I am not so patiently waiting the new Warpaint album to come out. No release date is set yet which is really frustrating! And I still need to download the new JT album, looking forward to that a little too much.

Wikipedia has a pretty good list of what is coming out for this year, if it's correct. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_al ... se_in_2013

The Joy Formidable came out in January, totally missed that.
New Kids on the Block in April...should I dare?
Paramore in April, def looking forward to that.
Goo Goo Dolls in May.
Limp Bizkit is TBA. Really!
Pearl Jam TBA.

There are some strange music comebacks this year.

I still haven't had time to listen all the way through the new/old Rilo Kiley - Rkives. So far it's good, but I have already heard a lot of the songs.

I also like the new Thermals album! Sounds a bit more like More Parts Per Million than their recent stuff.

Holy crepe their player needs a volume control. I just about lost my eardrums to the bips at the start of that OMD album.

Thanks for the links. I mostly ignore Pitchfork because they are not as cool as me. I was listening to OMD way before these hipsters were even born. Yeah.
