Seriously. He's the main reason I'm watching this show.

Also, Jaime killed his cousin to escape. So how many epicly amazing things must he do to be forgiven? NOT A RHETORICAL QUESTION!!!!

Spoiler: show
Just you wait for the OMG WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH __________ CHARACTER!
I wonder if future seasons are gonna be like the books or not? In later books, GRRM actually leaves whole characters out for the whole book, focusing on certain characters in that area over that time period. So, like one whole book has no Dany (other side of the world and all that), and another book has no Cersei. The next book went back to the same time period as the previous book but in the other location. I'm glad I didn't read them til the books were done, so that the wait to find out what was happening on the other side of the world! Like, YEARS of waiting!

So, I wonder if they will not do that to the show, and keep the time-line a bit more linear. I would bet so. It sounds like they are splitting up some of the books into 2 seasons anyway.

(this isn't spoilery, right? Because its about the structure of the books, not the plot? But if you think I should spoiler it I will)

It's definitely spoilery, because it lets us know the future of some characters, however vague.

Because at this point, you just assume noone survives GRRM's imagination. Hah! Yeah, well, the point is, you go a loooooong time before knowing what is happening with a certain character, so if they adapt it like the books, it could be a season or 2 before you hear from a certain character.

I really want Sansa to tell Shae and Tyrion that Joffrey said he was going to rape her, so maybe they could at least try to protect her? I know lots of forked up stuff happens in the books/show, but some naive hopeful part of me feels like GRRM isn't going to let 14 year old Sansa be raped.

I feel like Tyrion's "wooden cork" thread kinda' covered that, maybe?

i think they might have been worgs. they wanted to warn them. (and they got the bonus of seeing a white walker dissipate) too bad sam and gilly didn't think to pick the knife back up. maybe a worg is nearby and can make the trek to collect it. (even better if their bird bodies can snatch it.)

now, i'm wondering why the knife was buried and the knowledge of white walkers' susceptibility to it hadn't made it's way throughout the humans. (and why there was no note with it.) do you think the white walkers somehow killed the only person who knew about it and then they buried it? wasn't there some inscription on the stone that was covering all the stuff? did they say it looked like night's watch stuff? it's possible the person who figured it out died and then came back as a white walker, and that would explain why he buried it all. but then why didn't he smash it? it was obsidian, right? that stuff's brittle. i can see sam and gilly making a killing by selling obsidian knives. i assume there's some obsidian at harrenhall? (that's the castle that was burned by dragons, right?)

Did he definitely not have the knife when he ran off? I was hoping that he did, and it was just an editing issue.

i'm not sure, but yeah, the editing made it look like stab-grab gilly-run (and it looked like it might have still been on the ground.)

Definitely seemed to me he left the knife on the ground. I kind of kept my eyes on it, as it seemed like a stupid plan to leave without that magical tool!

I have read up through book three, so I knew this was happening. I'm going to have to watch it again later, because I think I was so sick with anticipation up until when the song began to play that I couldn't let go and just watch the story unfold as I usually do.

What did everyone else think?

It was portrayed as brilliantly as it was written (minus 1 factor that they hopefully show or at least mention next episode), and non bookies are going to shiitake bricks

I haven't read the books so this was as shocking to me as Ned Stark losing his head in season 1. Yikes!

zomg zomg zomg zomg zomg

i honestly just started yelling "what?!" "what?!" "OMG!!" "WHAT?!?!" during the last five minutes or so. i practically broke out in a sweat.

then i yelled upstairs to my husband, "they're playing the credits over dead silence right now, that's how forked up that just was." because, for real.

I feel like this show has made me a terrible person. As soon as cat stark got that look on her face, I was like OH FUUUUUUUUUCK! and I think I immediately went into desensitized mode so when it started happening I was like "well...i shoulda known things were going to too well." and now I'm not even upset.

That whole Bolton family is a bunch of jerks!
