She'd just been told that she's been ordered to marry Tyrion instead of Loras, and didn't want to marry a dwarf who was easily twice her age.

I have to say in this episode the torture scenes made me seriously uncomfortable. I kind of skimmed them in the book, and felt that they were a bit on the graphic side for me in the series.

yeah, I don't think she was crying because the boat sailed away. I think that's her place to go when she needs to be alone and cry or whatever.

Well, I think she was crying. And I think the boat was sailing away. As to who could NOT want to marry Tyrion...I know, right? But she's young and stupid.

So much great interactions this ep! Loras and Sansa, Tyrion and Cersei, Tyrion and Sansa, Diana Rigg and Tywin. The Red Woman and Aria. Whoa. And I agree about the torture. A bit much!

And Joffrey, ugh.

I thought this episode was the best of the season. I loved the scenes with Tywin and Olenna, Sansa and Loras, and Cersei and Tyrion.

it's possible that the wildlings with the stark boys already were along a coast (which is likely since they don't seem as hardy as the others). it seems like manse's crew were in the center. they both have people who can do the bird thing, but maybe they didn't know about the bodies of water or maybe the bird guy with manse's crew is dumb and didn't think to mention it's existence to the rest. (and maybe also they wanted to save time? was it castle black that they were intending to sack?)

I thought they were climbing over at one of the unmanned castles to get the drop on them.

Just to clarify that there is only one wildling in the group with the Stark boys (Bran and Rickon), called Osha, who was captured by the Starks in series 1 when they killed all her companions but spared her. The other two are Meera and Jojen Reed, who are from the north of Westeros, not wildlings.

As the wall is solid ice, I guess any water at the base would be cold enough to be frozen anyway. There are also tunnels and gates at some places in the wall which allow the Night's Watch to go through it.

ohhhhhhhhh! that makes sense why i didn't think they seemed hardy. :-)
yeah, osha's crew probably walked around.

As a female that is quite tall, I really liked this article on why Brienne is so awesome.

Good episode.

Was it just the way the scene was shot or did the wildlings scale the wall with only a few people? I thought their plan was to take an army through it? What do the gain by fighting the "crows" or are they just looking to get south to escape the white walkers? If the wildling taking care of the Stark boy didn't have to climb the wall to get south why did the they? The map in the opening credits looks like there is a body of water that spans the area north and south of the wall.

Jon and Ygritte were in a scouting group that was sent to scale the wall (and do other things we'll likely see in the next ep or two). The rest of the wildlings are still with Mance Rayder hidden up in the mountains.

I don't think they ever say in the books how Osha got through, but I'm pretty sure she climbed the wall. At least that's what the internet thinks.

I love you, Jaime Lannister.

That's ok, now, right? Cause he redeemed himself and also Bran said he was pushed from the tower for a reason. Right???

I feel like I can't even hate Theon anymore after all of the horrible, horrible torture scenes. Enough of that shiitake already. He's a horrible person; I GET IT! But nobody deserves that, and I don't want to watch it, and ugh.

Ygritte is often annoying, but in general I like her. (And in my head I was spelling her name "Egret," like the bird. Heh.)

Yeah, you can't even hate Theon anymore. Do you think he really got castrated???? The only people I feel okay hating are Locke and Joffrey. And Stannis just because I find him annoying.

Oh, Ygritte. Yes, I thought that they were a little past all that. OH! And Dog nabbed Aria! I think that's going to end up being...a good thing?

I don't feel so hot about Rob and his wife. A little too much happiness there. I'm sure that's going to need to change!

I wonder what Jaime and Cersei's relationship will be like when he gets back. Also, is he going to try to make good on his promise to deliver Sansa and Aria? I assume so, since he's good Jaime now.

I wasn't really buying Jaime's redemption until he went back for Brienne. That totally made me squee.

Fun fact: I just read that last Sunday's episode was written by George RR Martin.

The Jaime-going-back-for-Brienne scene may be my absolute favorite from the books. I believe I cried the first time I read it. Martin did an excellent job adapting it to the screen as well.

here's the "facebook recap" for episode 7; the part about the bear was kind of awesome.

I still have no problem hating Theon! Within the context of this show, I feel like he deserves what he's getting! He had those two little kids killed, so he could pretend he killed Bran and Rickon. When those girls came in I was like "holy shiitake they are going to cut his penis off!!"

Simon from Misfits is doing a great job of playing an even creepier weirdo!

I just wish they'd chop his head off and be done with it. I'm not rooting for the guy, but I also don't want to see him in agony, facing more and more mutilation every week. It's sick.

I knew there was a reason I was supposed to feel bad for loving Jaime. I forgot about his attempted Bran-murder.

I love Ygritte. What's with all the hate?

I love this. And remember when the Lannisters were blonde? I hate that they aren't any more and I can't work out if it is deliberate (oh, they're bad guys and not so shiny any more) or if they have just run out of dye.

I love her, too! I just thought that her character development backslid a little bit because I didn't love her as much as usual.

But Bran forgave him, so we can, too. I mean. Sort of.

Yes, please.

I am having serious panic over Rob and the pregnancy. Khal Drogo flashbacks! I actually woke up way too early thinking about it and never got back to sleep.

I'm wondering what's up with the Sam storyline. I hope something epic happens!

The Bran storyline is getting a little snoozy. If he's just gonna be worging out all the time I'd rather they use the time to show more Dany! Or John and Ygritte! Or Arya and Dog! Or even sick Joffrey shiitake. And when will we see Littlefinger again? I miss him already.

Oh and I forgot: I loved how Gendry was all "GULP" when he found out who he was!
