An episode without Littlefinger is not a perfect episode, but it was still really good.

That seriously scared the shiitake out of me.

I sort of like Tywin, despite being a Lannister, but man, when he is talking to Tyrion....ugh. I really wish Tyrion would just run away with Shae.

I feel the same way about Tywin. He seems to lack an obnoxious sense of entitlement the other characters have, he has an "I earned it" vibe. I liked him a bit more when I saw him soften to Arya when he thought she was just an orphan girl. I think he is one mean MOFO though.

Why did Jamie fork with Brienne? Isn't the deal pretty good for him. She's taking him home, essentially.

If Brienne delivers him to Kings Landing, then his family is obliged to reciprocate with a gesture.

He has his pride, he doesn't want to be delivered, he wants to escape.

Even without those two things I think his character would screw with someone's head just for the fun of it.

I did something similar. Three weeks before the new season, I watche all of season 1 & 2 about 3 -4 episodes a week. That was really nice.

I'm not reading this thread, but we just finished season two! I so wish season 3 was available on iTunes.

I cried about Meester Leeuwen. :(

I just caught up with last week's. Gareth Keenan from the office, Simon from Misfits and the kid from Love Actually all in one ep!!

Aside from that it wasn't the most memorable episode ever.

Yes. I have so many mixed emotions! I really wasn't expecting that. In fact, I went to change the thermostat during that scene because I figured nothing would happen. I wonder how or if this will change Jamie. And I'm trying to figure out his motivation. On the one hand, he protected Brienne. But was he just trying to play his captors? Seeing if they'd bite so he could try to free himself?

The rest of the episode was pretty awesome and I laughed out loud a few times, especially with Tyrion moving the chair.

I'm not worried about Dani's dragon. It'll come back to her!

I'm pretty sure she will take her soldiers and have her dragon burn that man and his court to a crisp so that he can't train any more slaves or kill any more infants. She clearly can't stand him, so I can't imagine her leaving her dragon with him. Besides, she wouldn't leave her dragons at all since they are "her children."

Are her dragons big enough to do all of that yet?

Are dragons intelligent? If so, do they have their own agendas or are they like dogs who will do the bidding of their caretakers?

Trading a dragon for an army may not have been a bad deal if the dragon is incapable of flying across the water to attack Westeros at the bald guy's bidding.

The bear song! I thought the ending credits were perfect, but some of the internet is complaining.

i thought it was perfect too. you're in shock from the chop, you're given a second to sit with your mouth open and then the music blares in.

I thought the song took you too out of the moment. But I loved the rest of the episode. For some reason, and unlike everyone else on the show, danerys really seems like she knows what she's doing. Like, I trust her decisions for whatever reason.

Yeah me too. At first I was all worried about the dragon trade, but then I told myself, "Don't worry, she's got this."

she's totally got a bond with those dragons, that i'm sure dragee already knows the plan.

she's going to get the warriors and the translator to safety, and then she's going to send the other two dragons to help destroy the evil dudes, and all 3 will return to mama.

The state of her own ethical conduct is an interesting one.

Yes, the bald slaver dude is about as low as a person can get.

However, she brought 3 dangerous animals into existence and is going to get innocent people killed so she can be a queen. So far, the only justification she has is that she will be less frequent in causing people to die than someone like Joffrey.

right now, i think all she's thinking about is saving more future babies from future slave warriors. i don't think she's thinking about what's going to happen to joffrey's swordsmen. (and having been a mother, i think she probably cares more about babies that never had a chance at a life than adult swordsmen who made the decision to fight for an unworthy king.)

YES. That is what I said last night to my GoT friends. I'm never worried about her.
