Tom and Lorenzo think Don and Megan will get back together. I hope they're wrong. I really don't want her to come back. I would like Don to be alone for a while and maybe (maybe?) grow as a person. Because what would be the point of this entire episode (maybe even this entire season) if he doesn't?

I think I might be the only person who doesn't hate Megan. I wouldn't be upset if she stuck around. I wonder if maybe Don might go to California with her, at least for a while, now that he doesn't have a job tying him to NY. Although I agree that some alone time would probably be best for him. I just wonder if he's even capable of that, or if he'd fall back into his old pattern of drinking and sleeping with anything that moves.

I just had a thought - Don's brother Adam: where does he fit in to his childhood flashbacks? Adam was there when he left for the army (or certainly when he came back), but it looked like a different family than the one he grew up with. Did I miss something, or is this a continuity error?

Since Adam is so much younger than Don/Dick/whatever, I think that he would have been a baby for much of the flashbacks, and since we rarely see baby Gene... (or any other baby with the exception of Kevin), it's not that far out of what's normal on the show. It might present more of a continuity issue to show a small child in the flashbacks, since they grow and change quickly and more visibly than older children and adults do.

I think secretly he has really loved his kids this whole time and if he could connect with them and become a good dad that would be a total redemption for me.

I hope with all this potential LA action next season Kinsey returns.

I held my breath while Don spoke in that Hershey's meeting. It was an incredible moment, I thought. There have been a few moments this season where my heart broke a bit for Don. This was one of them. The other big one was when he took Bobby to the movies and Bobby spoke to the black usher about people going to the movies when they are sad. Don looked so legitimately taken by his son's sweetness in that moment. It was one of the few times that it felt like Don loved his children. I hope there is more of that coming.

I think this episode is hinting that Don is going to reveal himself. There is no way for him to move forward without doing so. Maybe the falling man in the show's intro is a metaphorical fall from the fraudulent Madison Avenue executive persona he had created himself to be.

Sally got suspended. I've tried everything! Neglecting her, slut-shaming her, giving her cigarettes; nothing works!

yeah, i don't understand why pete was able to get the furniture, i'd have thought manolo would have had the will changed so he gets everything.

he probably just went for the money so it'd be easier to move on and do the same thing to someone else.

Pete's mother didn't have much money after Pete's father died (old, old plot line). Pete and his brother were supporting her, so it appeared to Manolo that she was rich. Manolo marries her for her money and (possibly) kills her. Then he finds out she doesn't have any money and disappears. Pete and bro decide that since Manolo didn't get any money (no mind the potential murder), that it's not worth the money to hire a private detective to find Manolo. All that's left is her furniture, which Pete makes sure to get his fair share of because he never got his fair share of attention and parental approval when his parents were alive.

That theory plus Jon Stewart's wish for a crime fighting Joan spinoff... all the pieces are falling together!

I find all these theories lots of fun to read, but also kind of funny that the authors think one of the more originally conceived shows on television is going to need to steal its plot from historical events for an ending rather than come up with anything original.

Though one of the things that I forgot to mention surprised me with the Tom & Lorenzo analysis of the Bob and Pete Kneesie episode is that they didn't mention Pete's mom is wearing almost the exact same outfit as Jackie Kennedy during her husband's assassination. (Pink chanel-ish suit with a pillbox hat) Manolo's selection?

This is so interesting! I don't think that's how it will end, but it's an awesome theory that I never would've pieced together myself.

So I've spent the last month watching ALL of Mad Men for the first time, and I'm now completely caught up. I have so, so many thoughts, but I won't bore you guys with all of them - just a few.

- I couldn't care less about Don's affairs, especially Lindsay Weir. Oh my goodness, the wasted screen time. I'm sure we'd all have preferred a lot more Joan or Peggy than to have to sit through that droll mess. And where was the payoff? Was the whole thing just so Sally would walk in on them and bring her disgust with her father to a stratospheric level? If so, that could have been accomplished with a random daytime quickie. I desperately hope they don't make us slog through something like that again for the next season.

- Don has always been a pretty reprehensible guy, but it wasn't until the last couple of seasons where I really, actively started to dislike him. And all of that dislike revolved around him screwing over his coworkers (particularly Peggy). Yeah, he's a dick (ha!) and has slept with half of New York and cheats and lies and blah blah blah. But I guess I never cared much about Betty or Megan enough to care about what he was doing to them. I really like most of the people at SC&P, and the people he walks all over are some of the ones I like the most. There were quite a few scenes where he was openly cheating/insulting/demeaning a coworker where I just yelled at or flipped off the TV screen.

- I hope Megan is gone, but I kinda don't think she will be.

- I LOVE Stan, and I hope he isn't gone... but I think this might be the end for his character. And seriously, who would have imagined him being a likeable character during his first 4 or 5 episodes? He was such a pig!

- I'm so, so interested to see how the Bob story is going to play out. I like him, but I definitely don't trust him. There's something pretty huge lurking just around the corner, and I can't wait to see what it is.

as for the lindsay weir thing, they were showing us his obsession with her was more deep seated than just wanting to screw around/a vehicle for creating animosity between him and sally. (she subconsciously reminded him of his first sexual encounter) she was also responsible for shooting don down when he was at his lowest. (remember when he tried to dominate her, and she was having none of that.)
