so my favorite band in the world is AFI, love em! all their stuff. But I was listening to one of their early songs, and heard the line 'and always stay away from Wheaties', but later in the same song, they go on to say 'give me sugar not nuts and twigs'
I know at least the singer, Davey, of the band is currently vegan, but i think way back around 1995 he was toying with it
any songs or artists you know that hide it in plain sight or are open about veganism?

haha, the lines are referring to the rest of the song about different varieties of breakfast cereals.

"breakfast cereal needs to be sweet,
that's the only kind I'll eat
give me sugar, not nuts and twigs
do I look like a forkin' squirrel to you?"

I wouldn't too hard into that song (or the whole album) for hidden messages or veganism :P

Canada's Propaghandi are vegan and even sponsor CPG's Vegetarian Food For Thought Podcasts. He is a great interview on Vegcast (I think it was Vegcast)...very knowledgeable and well spoken. Lead singer from Oi Polloi from Scotland did a great interview with Dylan Powell on his Vegan Police podcast...really really entertaining with great stories from the road.

Russ Rankin of Good Riddance is vegan! He's the best.

Goldfinger lyrics are pretty outwardly vegan. Especially Open Your Eyes!

I don't know if they're vegan, but Conflict does a lot a few songs about animal rights. MDC has Corporate Deathburger & Chicken Squawk. Also really have to echo Propagandhi and Goldfinger. "Supporting Caste" was probably my favorite album of the last 5 years.

I saw John K Samson (formerly of Propagandhi, currently of the Weakerthans) and John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats play at a Farm Sanctuary benefit thing. In the people barn. Aww.

Pretty sure JKS in vegan! Darnielle isn't, which is lame. But he's been vegetarian for a long time.

A guy from my vegan meet-up is in Comeback Kid.

I think Isa just met him in London, actually.
