I agree, I try and tag everything either #vegan or #mustveganize which is fun when people repin and don't change the comments.

I just signed up to be on the waiting list. Anybody have any invites they would like to share with a lonely little vegan who is missing out on all the fun of pinning stuff? (Hint: it's me)

Just so everyone knows, there's no limit on invites. You can invite as many people as you want. You'll never run out of them. So if you're hesitant to invite someone, don't be!

When you scroll to the bottom of 'pinners you follow', why does it end where it does? Is there a way to make it go on?

I think it is supposed to automatically populate the more you scroll down. Kind of like how FB now shows more posts at the bottom of your news feed when you get there?


eta: it did automatically populate more shiitake, it just takes a minute

Mine didn't, but then again it's being really slow and glitchy all over... keeps saying 'couldn't find pin' when I click on images, so I think my internet is not happy.

Hmmm, I read this but still haven't formed a decided opinion. What do you guys have to add?

Pinterest isn't like fb (or Flickr or photobucket!) in that you can upload whatever you want and call it yours, it literally links back to the original site it was uploaded from when you click it. So yes, one might steal a photo, call it theirs, upload it to Facebook and then pin it, but it's not like pinterest makes that kind of thing easier.

True! But I have seen people take pictures from nail blogs remove the watermark and upload it while calling it their own. Happens to chloesnails.blogspot.com often.

One of my friends has posted a lot of stuff about Pinterest and legality. Pinterest definitely shouldn't be saving hi-res copies of images, and most people are shitty about sourcing things. I've seen people upload things* that aren't theirs (and they aren't claiming it is theirs so I don't know why they don't link to the original).

*Yes, you can upload things.

Well, after reading this... It is a bit scary really. It seems like if what she says is true it wouldn't matter if we do say boldly who's work it is and even if we do provide a link. But really, that does seem pretty ridiculous that they haven't yet accounted for the Internet in copyright laws. Seems about time. If someone is correctly attributing work to te artist and even providing a link, I think that is a very good thing and would be total shiitake if they got in trouble for doing that.

I just try to make sure that what I pin is really linking back to the original source. I do this especially when it says something is coming from tumblr, since the link will just go to some random tumblr page reposting the image. I then try to find the original source and if I can't, I probably won't pin it.
