Anyone have an invite they don't need?

Have any of you guys had this happen? I pinned something just now and like two seconds later I go back to my home screen (luckily I was just looking) and saw two pins made by me that I didn't make? They were obviously spam pins about free stuff and weight loss. I deleted them and changed my password, but now I'm pissed off because I don't know how that happened? I can't decide if it was coincidence that I had just pinned another thing or if it's something that piggie backed in.

I got an automatic spam pin from Pinterest itself and there was no delete button either, but someone posted that if you add "edit" to the URL you'll still get the edit/delete page. So that worked for now.
I really hope they don't start adding more of those pin ads because they could really clog the pretty pinboards and that defeats the purpose of Pinterest for me.

I always forget that I even have a pinterest, and feel silly looking at my fifty pathetic pins, and then feel silly for judging myself on lack of participation in social networking in a broader sense. But then I still judge myself. Oy vey!

Pinterest finally sent me an invite yesterday after I'd totally lost interest. I was kind of skeptical, but I think I'm addicted now.

People post really gross food on this thing. Dorito chicken casserole? Whyyyyyyyy?

I want to say how gross that is, but the other day I was eating chile picante corn nuts and thought they might be good to use to bread and fry something, but I only confess that on the ppk, not broadcasting on pinterest.

That hasn't happened to me, but I've noticed a bunch of spammers repinning stuff, with sketchy links in the comments.

So I joined the darkside ... but I don't get it. What's the point? Just to post thumbnail photos? Everyone tells me they get lots of ideas for crafts and recipes but I don't understand where the actual information comes from.

I find it neat to find new recipe ideas from the people I follow & repin there stuff, as well as when I happen to just be browsing the internet, I can 'pin' recipes I like and choose a thumbnail pic to represent it. You can usually click through to the original source of the image (which, if it was uploaded, is just pinterest, but if it's a blog or elsewhere, is quite useful). I like having a bunch of images together too, because I find it helpful for writing inspiration.

I know people say the get great ideas from pinterest but I actually find it more useful as a bookmarking tool - I'm more likely to follow up on a craft idea, a recipe, whatever if I can just browse images and then click through to the source, and have them organized in categories, as opposed to just bookmarking something, or starring it in google reader, or emailing it to myself, all of which just result in me forgetting about stuff I liked.

can you block people on pinterest or report them for spam?

If you click on a pin, there is a report link on the right side.

I followed some new pinners yesterday, and now people I've never even heard of are showing up on my page. When I check to see if I'm following them, I'm not. WHAT IS THIS WITCHCRAFT?

I just joined Pinterest and I already have an addiction. Uh oh.
