Have you guys noticed the incredible amount of thinspiration pinners? It's really starting to get to me... I've been really working hard to have a better self image and every time I see those pins it hurts.

I wrote to Pinterest, and they said they're working on creating better filters. If this is something that bothers you as well you can email them here (hi@pinterest.com) and express your concern/ask to make stronger filters and the ability to hide pins a priority.

I was afraid of one of the pins that I pinned was probably someone's thinspo; I don't want to be like that, but I would like athletic abs. I'm glad I haven't seen too much though. I found some stuff on Tumblr, and it was so incredibly, overwhelmingly sad.

yeah, the problem is there is a difference between healthy inspiration and some of the other pins which are just terrible and hateful. And then people keep repinning them with notes about how terrible it is!! Just stop! But yeah, I don't want pinterest censoring pins, just creating stronger (any?) filters.

I would also like to filter out all the "I love jesus and you're dumb if you don't" crepe.

Somehow I've managed to miss thinspo, I've just noticed several celeb pictures, but not that kind. I've also missed the "I love Jesus and you're dumb" stuff...I guess I've been very lucky.

I did see a dress I liked and thought it would be good for whenever I get a job. Then below it I saw "for mom" and it was under a wedding category. I immediately felt very old.

Ah, that must be it. I haven't really started following anyone beyond Mr. Shankly on here who sent me the invite. I'm a crafty vegan type who won't post any thinspiration stuff, just maybe occasional work out programs.
