holy shiitake, his neighbor lady was annoying. There is a serious fine line between getting to know someone and being an obnoxious bisque.

And they have zero chemistry! Whenever they were interacting, I just wanted to yell "Beach!" and run away.
Spoiler: show
It does look from the previews like she is going to be murdered by Zack, which should probably make Dexter unhappy with his impetuous mentee
I liked Bethany Joy Lenz in One Tree Hill, but she is so meh here - I still get no sense of why her character would even find Dex appealing - she seems to be more tossing her hair and batting her eyes frantically for no good reason. Maybe Nate and Lucas can come and save her.

Hannah is making me hope she and Dex run off to Bolivia together.

This was the first good Dexter stalk-gather-evidence-hunt and kill set-up for a while. I missed his whole stake-outs and meticulous investigations from the first few seasons.

Also "A little reflection" was a hilarious title, but I really don't see how a killer photographing his kill could leave a recognizable picture of himself in a reflection in a mirror lying on the floor and not pointed at him. If there were anything wouldn't it just be a fraction of his camera?

She's got to have something more exciting behind her, surely they wouldn't just bring in this new clueless girl so late in the game if she didn't serve some purpose to the plot.

At some point, Quinn is going to have to catch onto Dexter. Perhaps the neighbor lady's role will be that, if she dies, Quinn will make it his duty to get to the bottom of it, since Jaime and her are friends and he needs to prove that he's into her (instead of Deb), and also to prove to Angel that he's good at what he does. But then, when he gets close-- or after he figures it out-- he'll have to decide between allegiances to Jaime and Deb.

It occurred to me that maybe Dexter will train Zach and then Zach will kill Dexter in the final episode.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly.

"You're a weird guy who lives with his mom, you might as well be wearing a sign." This line made me laugh and it also made me think about how Dexter used to be funny more often.

So Dr Vogel, the brain surgeon or no? Wish Hannah had gotten on the plane. And is Deb the worst or what?

What motivation would Vogel have to kill Zach?

Best: "Don't "Dude" me." Zach the first time serial killer being goofy as he realizes his mistakes was funny.

"I trust there are no vegetarians here." Loved the weird serial killer family dinner.

And Jamie being the only person to have a "normal" response to a murder. It really brought home how jaded and messed up everyone is.

Least favorite part: Dexter's butt.

Although the way she averted Hannah's question when asked what made her get into her field of work was interesting.

What??? Dexter's butt was the best part of the episode! I totally think Vogel is a killer. I can't figure out anyone else who would want to either frame or kill Zach (don't think Quinn would do it), and I always thought Vogel was the brain surgeon.

Yes, its starting to look like Dr Vogel is the mother of the monsters, taking out her own creations, but its hard to see how she would have the strength to overpower a grown man, move the bodies and then saw open their skulls. But since the "Dexter can stab a curtain rod through a mattress" incident, I don't expect the writers to have much respect for things like basic physics.

Definitely interested in hearing the "incident" that put her on the path.

I really liked Zach the excited puppy serial killer. He was so much better than Zach the angry, obsessed angsty teen. I was sad to see him go, because I would have liked to watch him ineptly be all "DERP! Gloves! DERP!" at another crime scene. Such a nice introduction of a little levity and humor and also a reminder of how complicated Dex's process used to be. You know, before he started magically being able to stab curtain rods through mattresses.

my favorite zach moment was when he was bragging about his awesome kill room, and then suddenly stopped and said, "wait did you change something?" BWAH!

there were a lot of funny lines this episode, for reals.

and i had NO idea how to process that last scene. i'm kind of enjoying not knowing what the fizzle is going on, but dr. vogel is definitely shifty. that whole thing with the dinner was creepsville. i'm pretty sure she served them brains.

Ewwwww That had not occurred to me, and now I am replaying them scooping out the scalloped potatoes in my mind with disgust. BERK!

well she was just so WEIRD about it, with the vegetarian comment and the family recipe thing, and yet being vague the whole time?

i've been obsessed with food and drinks this season; i also kept thinking elway was drugging deb because he is constantly trying to give her "electrolytes" and buy her lunch and give her a drink and whatever.

I find that Deb tends to pop up in a scene and then leaves again without adding much to it, like the whole scene with Hannah. She shows up to arrest her and then goes all hokey doke and leaves again, seems kind of pointless imo.
Somethings definitely up with Vogel, but I just don't get why she would have killed Zach, it just doesn't make sense to me.
I'm convinced that Quinn killed Dex's neighbour so that he could frame Zach and arrest him, I know it seems far fetched but it's the last season so who knows.

This season is the last one, right? The John Lithgow season was the best in my opinion. It just seems like it's gone downhill from there.
