It's nothing like the old one. It's about language and words and linguistics and stuff.

I can't guarantee I won't get bored with it tomorrow and quit. Unlike the old one, which remained an irritating obsession for years.

Tongues and Tongues.

I like it! It's really interesting (which I guess is unsurprising, considering the source).

So I think "tephra" needs to be a word that I incorporate into my daily life. Somehow. Someway.

love this blog, ff. I hope you keep it up, because I love languages and words!

well hello there! very nice.
the anti-flap thing gets me too. Occasionally you will hear someone enunciate an abbreviation, especially, and wonder what the hell they are trying to prove.

The announcer/ad reader guy on KUOW (Seattle) says en-vi-ron-ment.

How can he stand to talk that way?

Your name is Ben! I thought you were a woman. What hijinks. Unless you're called Benjamina or Benrietta or something.

Anyway, your blog is cool. Years ago I started, then abandoned, a blog about learning languages using recipes. It was fun.
