That was brutal. Perfect, but brutal. Hannibal getting hung up and "crucified" was also beautiful and I was not totally rooting for Will's psycho Swimfan to kill the mustard. Alas. The dance going on between Will, Chilton, Gideon, and Hannibal is so tense. And Chilton is just the ultimate slimeball but the actor plays it so well, it's fun to watch him smarm all over the place.

Next week! I'LL TAKE SOME FOOD TO GO THANKS.

I think kissing hannibal is grosser than eating people. I wonder how many people were saying "no no no no no no no no no" at their TVs tonight?

ME ME ME I WAS. There are not enough yucks in the world. I know Mads Mikkelsen is a very attractive man and everything but his Hannibal is so forking evil and creepy and terrifying that all I could think was NOPE. NOPE. And of course she's his alibi. I didn't even see that coming as a reason for their gross and unholy union.

The look of "oh shiitake" on Hannibal's face when Jack asked for a to go box made me think they might actually find something. So I guess only some of the food was people? Hannibal, you're slipping.

HE FED GIDEON HIS OWN LEG. I cannot.

Also I just love Jack's steadily increasing side-eye toward Hannibal. His spider sense is tinging. Some shiitake's up.

Also also I am pretty much living to see Will reunited with his 47 adorable dogs next week.

I am such a dork, but I kept imagining Morpheus saying "he's beginning to believe" every time jack was on screen. That whole episode was so tense! Omg the end! I had forgotten about My Girl in this show.

I'm sure he bought from someplace very fancy and expensive. He is the Fanciest Cannibal. He cooked Gideon's leg in clay! His cooking skills are legit even if they are, you know, evil.

how DOES he find the time? (to elaborately murder people in a tree with flowers, dissect them AND cook them up like a michelin 5 star restaurant)

I think maybe if I'd seen the actor in anything else before I could probably agree that he's attractive, but he's one of those people who is just ruined forever. he's so grody! Did you know that his brother is in the last episode of the most recent series of sherlock? the one who licked the lady's face in the beginning of the episode? the whole family's creeps!

Yes to the grossness of kissing Hannibal. I was thinking "Stop! Don't do it!"

He's a Murder Wizard! He MAKES the time. Like literally he wills it into being, there's no other explanation. Like the thing with Beverly? He did that in, what, 8 hours? Over a single night, anyway. Even if we leave aside how long it would take to freeze a human body solid enough to slice it up like that, did he just have those huge panes of glass lying around? Where would you get 10+ sheets of glass in the middle of the night? And if you DID have to go out and buy them at the 24 Hour Glass Mart, wouldn't the guy who sold you all those panes of glass at 4 am see the new the next day and be like, "well shiitake?"

I just go with Murder Wizard.

Mr. Jewbacca and I were SCREAMING "NO!" at the screen. I have also questioned his time management skills, like how does he make all that time for killing and presenting so elaborately? Does he ever sleep? He doesn't seem to have many patients, so maybe that's it. He's an independently wealthy killing genius.

Although his eating preferences are utterly disgusting, I do envy his culinary skills. I wonder what clay baked seitan would taste like.

People recipes instead of place cards at your wedding.

shiitake's about to get real. REAL!

Am I the only one bummed that Chilton is dead? He's supposed to live so Hannibal can eat him later at the end of Silence of the Lambs.

MURDER WIZARD.

I suggest that anyone interested in the fate of Dr. Chilton read this episode's Walkthrough on the AV Club. These things are always spoilery as hell, so, you know, be forewarned.

GUYS. I've just watched the entire first season and I'm LOVING it. Obviously I know Mads Mikkelsen's earlier works, because we have like 20 danish actors in this tiny country. I can recommend Rejseholdet, I am Dina and Adam's Apples - although, Danish cinema is usually pretty interesting and he has a looong list of movies he's been in.

He's SO creepy as Hannibal. I love it. Although I hate the danish accent. It's really annoying!

Smoothie, I'm curious - does being familiar with his other work make his Hannibal any more or less creepy? Because this is my first exposure to Mads Mikkelsen and he is so tremendously terrifying as Hannibal that I'm pretty sure if I saw the actor on the street, I'd scream and run the other way. Like I'm not sure I'll ever be able to watch him in anything else without being creeped out.

Yeah, I see people posting on tumblr and whatnot about how sexy Mads is and while I suppose he is objectively an attractive man, after watching him be Hannibal for a season and a half there is just not enough NOPE in the world.
