You know, I tried, but I couldn't get into it. It just seemed like a lot of boobs and rape.

oh wow we've been watching but have like the last 4 episodes to watch still, and last night we watched the girl-under-the-bed episode. Ahhhhh that freaked me out pretty bad! And I too feel sad for Will and his brain. Can't wait to watch the rest of the episodes.

That episode creeped me out so hard, when she was under the bed I literally pulled my headphones out of my ears, threw them, and slammed my laptop shut. So scary.

Haha at spoiler!

With the girl-under-bed episode, I saw Ellen Muth's name in the opening credits and was waiting for her to show up. Then I realized she was the girl under the bed. So, Bryan Fuller cast her as a girl who thinks she's dead, named Georgia. She was the star of one of his other shows, Dead like me about a dead girl and her name was George. Hah!

Madeleine.teacup, all I could think during that scene was "is there a REASON she won't let him cook for him? Does she know??"

And I loved that, fisticuffs. It was such a perfect call-back. I loved Gretchen Speck-Horowitz showing up in the mushroom episode, too. To say I desperately need Lee Pace to guest on this show would be an understatement.

Dreadcitement? I'm sure there's a word for it in German. And Hannibal would know it. It's exactly what he feels every time he's about to be in the presence of Will Graham.

It's so good. SO GOOD. I keep trying to get Mike to watch with me so I have someone to rant about it with, but he has zero stomach for gore.

Opening the season with that fight was genius. We know Hannibal gets caught, but now there's a ticking clock attached that makes it so much more suspenseful. And I can't wait to see how they get to that point. The shots of Jack and Hannibal's faces reflected in Hannibal's knives were gorgeous.

Also: Winston. You know how to break my heart, Show.

The scene where Bedelia comes to tell Hannibal she won't be his therapist anymore was so TENSE. And "I believe you?" And at the end when he creeps into her house wearing his plastic murder suit and she left him her perfume bottle? I mean. I hope she runs far far away and never gets made into tacos. But I also don't want her to be off the show because Gillian Anderson is fantastic and I want to know what the hell happened with Hannibal and the patient who tried to kill her.

AHH.

the last few episodes . . . i don't know. the atmospherics are veering into this weird 70s arthaus space. i mean, i'm a fan of that in general, but it doesn't feel right here. i want everything to be all coiled and delicate like it used to be. and if you don't have time to make the one-ep case compelling, just leave it out. there's enough going on.

gawd, whinge.

I totally disagree! I feel like if anything the aesthetics and feeling of last season are only heightened here. And has there even been a one-episode case? The mural killer spanned the first two episodes and came up again in episode four, and the copycat/copycat from episode three was definitely not just a one-off - the preview for episode 5 has that coming back. your mileage may vary, of course, but I've been nothing but loving this season.

My thoughts on this last episode can basically be summed up as: BEVERYLY, NO! Oh my god I am so sad about this development. That last scene was forking terrifying.

the acupuncture lobotomist! her story was so weak you forgot it happened! i got so excited when i saw amanda plummer, and then they didn't give her any room. i did get a kick out of jack and jimmy's "ewwwww" reaction faces in her last scene, though. oh, scott thompson, i love you.

I agree that the bee thing was weird, but scott thompson's face made it worth it! It really didn't advance the plot at all though. At this point, all I care about is getting to the opening fight scene of the first episode. Ack!

I totally did forget about the bees! Ha. Okay, I will agree that that one was kind of weak. Although it did give us Scott Thompson talking about bee ejaculate, so it had SOME value.

My husband always says they live in an alternate universe where there are WAY more serial killers. I think it's a little comforting to think about it as an alternate world, just so i dont go to bed freaked out that i'm going to serial murdered so i can make a skin rainbow or some shiitake.

Yeah, apparently in Hannibal-verse every other person is a serial killer or seriously corrupt. After the last episode I had a dream about that last scene, with Hannibal standing behind me in the basement. NOPE. NOPE.
