The pilot is on tonight.

"A zombie helps Seattle police solve murders by experiencing victims' memories when she eats their brains. In the opener, medical resident Liv Moore becomes a zombie and loses her ambition until she begins working at the city morgue to gain access to brains that give her sustenance and allow her to maintain her humanity. She also learns that her new diet enables her to experience a victim's memories that can be used to help solve the person's murder."

Seriously?

I really liked it! It's very Veronica Mars (for obvious Rob Thomas reasons, of course). I don't know why this got a "seriously?" It's a different take on zombies which is kind of refreshing. I like that zombies could be regular members of society and not all super gruesome like the Walking Dead. I thought the main character was pretty unrecognizable from Once Upon a Time and then the Zombie that turned her was Dr Frankenstein from Once also, right?

I'll definitely keep watching. I like the Vmars style voice overs and general snarkiness.

Enjoyed it. Was not crazy about the super-British medical examiner, because I think he reminds me too much of Felix from Orphan Black. But I'll give him a few episodes to develop a distinct character before I judge too harshly.

Overall I'm just super happy there is a Rob Thomas show on TV again.

I haven't watched this but when I was watching the commercials I was surprised at how much I wanted to try it. Zombie stuff doesn't ping my radar because I'm terrified of it but I feel like this toes the line into something I could watch.

i finished it - it was not that bad. i like different spins on zombies (i am not a walking dead fan - tried but could not get into it) so it is refreshing. i was heartbroken when she went to go she her ex and he was playing a game killing zombies.

I was thinking Dr. Jeremy Reed from The Mindy Project.

I'll probably keep watching. I need more tv where good wins out more often.

Does anyone else think Liv's roommate kind of looks like Debbie Deborah Gibson? Also, I kind of hate how she and Liv's family treat her after she becomes zombified. Obviously they don't know the full story, but even of what they do know, she was involved in a disaster and was assumed dead (was she the only "known" survivor?). That's traumatic to anyone, regardless of whether they also have to contend with a newfound craving for grey matter.* And yet only a month or two later they're like "JEEZ, Liv, I mean GET OVER IT already." Kind of a jerk move, in my opinion.

*another thing about this show- the brains are like, hot pink jell-o. Cool to look at, but not very convincing as far as brains go. Maybe brains are to iZombie what wigs were to Veronica Mars.

Still love this show, though. Gonna watch the hell out of it.

Yeah, I'm super loving this show! I love this new take on zombies and I like the bad guy zombie. I think it's supposed to be like 6 months later. Not that it makes her family's treatment of her a whole lot better. as for the brains thing...in the first ep it was more believable all cut up in some udon noodles, but even though we know she only eats brains covered in hot sauce, that thing on this week's ep was totally straight up pink jello.

oh and liv moore is my new style icon. I want her hair cut!

I thought in this week's episode they said something about it being 2-3 months? This was when they had 'discovered' her friend in that well/whatever that was at the waterfront. I could be remembering wrong though!

I like the new twist on zombies, too- I like the idea of brains keeping her from 'turning,' kind of like certain interpretations of vampires, or the wolfsbane injections in Ginger Snaps.

i thought it was 6 months as well. i feel they kinda glossed over the whole 'you almost died' thing to jump into the zombie thing. then again it is not a show you watch for emotional depth when it comes to tragedy.

Loved Ryan Hansen's cameo in this week's episode! I kind of hated the one episode of Resident Advisors I saw, so it's nice to be reminded he can be awesome too.

I generally don't watch Zombie stuff as I don't enjoy it most of the time. The only exceptions have been movies that spoof the ridiculousness of zombies (i.e., Zombieland, Sean of the Dead). But I do really enjoy this show. Probably because it does remind me a bit of Veronica Mars, only better because I've always been a superhero nerd (her "powers" make it more interesting).

I'm watching the second episode, and I like it! Best, though, is that in the scene where the other zombie guy is getting accosted by the toughs in the car, there's a sign for a business on one of the brick walls for a business called "MuttBowl Surfers." Ha!

ep 5. when they are preforming an autopsy on her friend/sorority sister and liv grans her hand - it was really sad and i felt emotional.

i hope that the new zombie dude is a good guy and there is some zombie-boinking in liv's future.

I feel no shame in admitting that I definitely draw parallels between my love life and Liv Moore's and that these most recent episodes have me feeling ALL THE FEELS.

Also, when Suzuki went 'full on zombie' or whatever Liv calls it, I was like "SCREEEEEEE ERMAGEERRRRRD!"

Shot in the head vs shot in the chest. Same rules apply for walking dead zombies.

It's weird, but oddly interesting. I think I'll watch a rerun of the pilot if there will ever be one.
