I loved the fight between Matthew and Sir Newspaper. This show needs more men in dinner suits rolling around on the floor.

When Anna was visiting Bates in prison, and they reached out to touch hands, I hoped in my little Arrested-Development-loving heart that the guard would say "NO TOUCHING!" and he did and it made my day!

I do apologize if anyone posted this before - it's a long thread and I haven't been following right the way through. I just saw this photo, which I think is rather awesome. Just goes to show how different people look when they're in makeup and character. Even in period costume, these three lovely English actresses look pretty unlike their characters. Lady Edith's so-called "homeliness" is all awkward affect.

That's so funny that she's supposed to be considered homely. The first time I saw her on screen, I said to my sister "she is so pretty"

I just started watching it! I watched 1-3 today and am still going (borrowed seasons 1 and 2 dvds). I decided to finally watch only because I realized that Hugh Bonneville is my fave fave fave part of Notting Hill (Oh splendid!) but now I am so into it.

I watched the entire thing in 2 freaking days. Damn I'm said I'm finished! It is SO good. Except for Bates. I'm so sad about that poor man.
OH OH. My problem: How many years have passed since it started? like 7-8 years? And Daisy is still 13 years old? #icallbullshit

Daisy has grown as a person! She's just tiny from malnourishment.

None of them look older, but I'd say Daisy is about 17 by the time it ends.

Well, it started in 1912 and the Xmas episode finished in 1920. I can't imagine we were meant to think Daisy was 9-10 when it started. If so, that was some terrible casting/costuming because she very clearly has boobs from the beginning.
BTW, I also just watched all of this over the last few days. Love it. Can't wait for season 3!

Just watched the first episode last night and loved it! My husband is not totally on board yet, but I am so we are watching this series dammit. So far Thomas is my fav (not because I think he's a good guy, but I love it when he's onscreen). I always root for the bad guys, mwahahaha.

Haha awesome! Isn't it weird to come back to the real world after being so immersed in Downton? Can't wait for the return.

I am finally caught up, finished the Christmas Special last night. I cannot wait for January 6th, but I have to make sure which pbs channel matches up to that schedule so I don't miss it. I'm probably going to ask for both seasons for Christmas so I can re-watch them all before season 3 starts up.
