Is anyone else watching? I didn't hate the first episode, and love Tim, Mondo, and Nick - so it's nice to have more of them in general. It is very PR-like overall.

I've not heard of it but I have a total crush on Tim Gunn so I feel intrigued!

I liked it; I'll keep watching. The one guy that was really well-liked, Shan, is from St. Louis, so I'm rooting for him cuz that's my city!

I liked it and will watch again. I can't believe they already all almost have their teams together when they have to pick again next week.

Well, they chose 7/12 of the total contestants from group 1, so there are 5 slots left for the 7 prospective contestants from group 2 - it doesn't seem too inequitable to me (but as you can tell, I've been thinking about it quite a bit).

Shows with this kind of selection process always make me cringe because it doesn't seem fair to make these types of choices without being able to see the entire field first. I guess it is sort of more interesting for viewers though to watch the contestants choose their mentors. Kind of like The Voice, which I've only watched during the auditions...

i think it's unfair to because pool 2 could have much more quality...

i kinda feel that UtG has a PR feel but 'cheaper' like not as good company deals. but i do like Tim, Mondo and Nick...the last scene with the girl crying was sweet. i am not a big fan of Anya's - never was...

I'm surprised that they seem to have so many issues getting the participants to follow the time constraints. First with the one lady who wouldn't stop sewing and then with the other one in Mood. I wonder if that's always been a problem and they're just now editing it in, or if it's particular to this crop of designers...

Yeah, that always is strange to me -- why would anyone who has ever seen project runway not be prepared for the time constraints? If I were going on the show I would probably practice with deadlines at home (although it wouldn't be quite the same).

I am wondering how Tim keeps from giggling when he mentions "Blow Pro." What a horrible name.

I love Tim Gunn but I think I like him better as a mentor to the designer rather than a mentor to the mentors... Regardless, I definitely will be watching the show. I am hopeful that they might show more of the design and sewing process rather than the drama that was always a focus on Project Runway.

Anyone else notice episode 3 came out online a day later than usual?

If anything, watch it to giggle like a 12 year old every time they say "Blow Pro"

For sure. I feel so bad that Tim needs to scold someone like they're a child every week.

So sad and annoyed they kicked off Brody! He was my Portlander! Bah.

Love Mondo. Erm... crush on Mondo.

I didn't know about this show until today. The only episode available online is #4, so I checked it out - I think I'll stick with it! I like that it's basically watered-down PR. It's also interesting watching the mentors learn how to mentor. Tim always made it look so easy.

I have no love for Anya, never have. She totally screwed over her guy in this episode by telling him to not go with his style - then kicking him off. Not even right.

I feel like Anya had a good point, but she also should have told him that his direction was a little too safe because it was a semi-unconventional challenge. Just because you're designing for a woman in her 30's doesn't mean it has to be boring. (Overall, yes though - I feel like Anya has become popular more because she is gorgeous than because of any great design talent.)

Suggesting that someone not pigeonhole themselves in "juniors" design is a reasonable critique, but not necessarily on the 2nd challenge of the competition. Give the guy a chance to do his thing. And there's a good leap between juniors and a 35-year-old mom - she could have suggested designing for someone in her 20's. Mostly I just think it was not cool for her to eliminate him, because the main reason he was in the bottom was because he followed her mentoring.

i think she could have said look to betsey johnson who has junior elements (fabric & color) with more woman-aged cuts and details.

Yes sand yes.

Also, I think Asha's(?) win was a good choice, definitely fit the challenge and seemed best for the client. That red sparkly thing was hideous though. How did the one judge like it?

How Oscar thought that remotely suited her is beyond me. I have never heard of this chick, only saw of her what they showed us for a couple seconds, and I was well aware enough to know that! I'm guessing he hadn't heard of her either, but I'm pretty sure hearing the word 'tomboy' should have been enough.

I always loved Nick... not so much now. And keeping both of the people on the bottom is a total cop-out.
