They'll get out off it. There was a throwaway comment in the Sarah Jane show the other day where he said he could regenerate 507 times or something, which people are making way too much of... but they've switched it up with the Master before and will be able to with the Dr no problem, I'm sure. It's one of the BBC's biggest programmes, no way will they let him die off so relatively soon into the new era.

But the Master first did it by taking over someone else's body (I just watched that episode a few weeks ago). The Doctor couldn't do an evil thing like that. Numerous times on classic Who, they've mentioned that Time Lords have 12 lifetimes...

Perhaps, but it's been established that the lives can be replenished, so there's something to work with there.

I agree that they most likely will do it, I just wonder how they'll do it!

To be fair, I don't think that was something they started the show with. IIRC the limit was something established a couple Doctors into the show.

Unpopular Opinion Time! Am I the only one who didn't really like Tennant as the Doctor?

Tennant was my Doctor from the moment I saw him with glasses on. But I don't know...I could see Matt Smith possibly usurping him. The bowties, tweed jacket, and suspenders just kill me.

I loved Tennant as the Doctor but Matt Smith's awkwardness is really endearing to me and fits really well for me.

SCYFY is playing Sarah Jane Adventures and Doctor Who all day today. I am so glad I am not working!

I'm two episodes into the 2005 series. I can't see I'm super into yet but I see potential.
I remember watching super old episodes on PBS with a talking cactus and thinking what the fizzle.

Yep, I love the awkward. And Tennant started to get to me at the end, because they sent him out so poorly (all whiny!). But it is a little hard for me to come around to Matt Smith since he seems (and is) soooo young.

He is older than you! But very young for a Doctor, for sure.

I looooooooooove Mat Smith. Love him. And Pond. 'Come along, Pond!'

And Rory. I adore Rory. I love how much he is in love.

I loved Amy to start with but she kind of bugs me now. We shall see. I do really love Rory though.

I just watched that episode a few weeks ago and loved it, but then I love the classic Who more than the modern one. Though I love the Doctor in all his incarnations...

I'd have wacky, buddy-buddy adventures with Smith, but very, very naughty adventures with Tennant.

love MS, but pond is really getting on my nerves. she just...bellows too much. she's always bellowing about something. i liked her as a little girl, and i like her story line with the doctor, but i find the actress really irritating.

Ha, I love the way Amy speaks! And yells! Just her accent anywhichway.

But wee Amelia would've been an awesome companion too. Sooooo freakin' adorable. So crazy that the two of them are cousins in real life and had never met before!

It took me awhile to warm up to Tennant, but I loved Smith right away. He is the man.

I think the last two specials did a lot to destroy my love for #10. :-/

Just contrast 10's regeneration with 9's. I will take "And so was I!" over "I don't want to go!" ANY DAY. Especially when the latter takes freaking forever.

ETA - 10 has become my least favorite doctor of the new series. I blame the specials, because I used to love him.

The specials were bad (except for Wilf getting to be a companion, that was great). Journey's End was orders of magnitude worse. It's maybe the most painful hour of television I've ever seen.
