So, I'm still on my rewatch (it's been years) and I'm in the middle of S6. I just watched Once More, With Feeling being all "this is gonna be so much fun! I watched this episode so many times when it came out and listened to the soundtrack over and over again! So excited!"
Instead I had sobs boil out 3 times. 3 TIMES!!

I still love OMWF. But I'm stuck in the middle of season 7 and I'm not enjoying it. At all. What's happening?

The only BtVS episode that can still make me cry is "The Gift."

I cried during The Gift too, but only a little, but I was all over the tears in OMWF. Also, it was mostly brought on by Giles.

Anya's speech during The Body. I can't even talk about it. I'm actually starting to get teary eyed right now just thinking about it. Even though I know what she was really thinking during her lines!
Oops, I forgot capitalization.

Ah! Sorry! Fail!
I don't cry during The Gift at all. Just The Body, and only during the Anya speech.
I used to cry during Beneath You, but I don't anymore.

When he was visiting a few months ago, I showed my oldest brother the episode with "The Gentlemen" because he's always loved monsters, especially unique ones. He said it was OK, but wouldn't be one of his fav shows. Then this time he visited I explained a bit of the background before showing him "Once More with Feeling." He said he was amazed by how great most of the songs were and that it would probably be his second favorite musical of all time! He did, however, HATE Xander and said the actor had no presence, and couldn't act or sing :(

Yes, if someone doesn't get their heart strings tugged, then ripped out and stomped on, by Anya's speech, they have no soul.

That episode made me cry numerous times because I could put myself in Buffy's place all too easily (with my mom having health problems).

I just started rewatching this week - I was done all 7 seasons of ST:TNG. I am a nerd.
But I love me some Buffy. I know I will be pissed when I get to season 7 because of all the self righteous attitude etc, but right now, man this show is good!

Tee hee. Hubby and I are re-watching TNG right now! However, Buffy was much better than it, much earlier on. Even with only half a crappy first season to work the kinks out. I am re-watching Angel while running on the treadmill at present, and it was going well and fairly quickly until the season which must not speak its name happened. I've been stuck at the EVENT over a month. I'm looking forward to getting back to Buffy once again soon. The last time we re-watched, my husband controlled the dvds. I am quite methodical in my re-watching; I watch every episode in order, I stop and rewatch the episodes that have commentary with the commentary on. Hubby kept watching, like, 3 or so episodes, and I would already be asleep after the middle of the first one. Messed up my mojo. I used to watch it on a practically continuous loop, going right back to season 1 after finishing 7. My ex left me the fall I discovered Buffy, and it was my emotional life preserver for a while (though I tended to tear up quite a bit during the break up and Xander and Anya's wedding episodes more than the average).

I finished my rewatch this morning. I remember not liking the potentials a ton, like, being really annoyed by them but they didn't bother me this time around.
I need to read the comics now, which I never did. Are they any good?
I remember things differently. I remembered Dawn being a slayer and Anya dying via stab in the Summer's kitchen. I'm glad Dawn ended up not being a slayer and but I kind of wish Xander was more affected by Anya's death. I'm sure he was more than he let on, or he'd grieve when there was more time rather than Endo'World panic.
Although, my first thougt about full slayers is how many end up going bad and bully?
I'm gonna look online to see if there are scans for immediate satisfaction, and then library.

I have some qualms with season 8, but to me it's worth reading just to keep up with the canon. And, from the way that it ended and some comments that Joss made, I am hopeful that season 9 will be better.

I just read through 18 (downloaded). Gonna read the rest of season 8. I clicked on your spoiler and read the first word past "boo" and promptly closed it. That better not be the big bad, I have my money on someone/thing else, and I'd disagree with that choice completely.

I'm watching the Initiative episode of season 4. I forgot how cute Riley is when he's discovering his feelings. Later, he makes me annoyed. but beginning is cute.

But I did like Joss' comments at the end of S8, so I'm hoping for a better S9. Though, really, trying to read S8 has mostly taught me that I hate reading comic books (graphic novels are fine!).
