Okay, I loved the final episodes after Caleb shows up, and the finale was amazing. I wish there had been the sustained energy of the second half in the first half as well, but I guess that is a small quibble after the pay-off of the last quarter.

I'm currently rewatching the second season. Probably for at least the 3rd time properly. It just cheers me up :)

BAHAHAHAHA! Desde abajo te devora

There are so many great lines, now I feel compelled to watch the whole show over again. Man, I loved the finale. Angel walking off into the darkness saying "I'm not getting any older" was such a great parallel to the way he first appeared.

Remember when we used to have PPK Buffy chats and then XBL took away the movie sharing feature for Netflix because they're god damned monsters?

We're way ahead of you, bro.
Spoiler: show
Darla's
just been dusted.

It's been sooooo long since I watched S1! I completely forgot about some of these episodes! And the awful lighting! And the awkward sound effects! There's a spot where Xander's being dragged across a wooden floor and you hear a squooshing sound like someone's stepped in a swamp, it's freaking hilarious.

How is it possible to miss something you never even knew existed? Because that's how I feel about this.

Season 1 is cheesy and the lighting is terrible, but with a few notable exceptions (THERE'S A DEMON IN THE INTERNET) (also, Owen) it's pretty strong. And quotable. "Hi, I'm an enormous slut!" "Hello, would you like a copy of the Watchtower?" And everyone is so young! Buffy has chipmunk cheeks and Angel hasn't developed any acting skills yet. Aw.

Oh, PPK.
I started on the comics less than 48 hours ago, and I'm halfway through Wolves at the Gate.
How could I live without this for so long?

We've sort of done this a couple times with Skype and Netflix. We all log into Skype and create a group chat (in a separate chat from the usual PPK chat that we always have), and then we cue up Netflix to all start at the same time.

I feel like you could maybe do it with a google hangout too? While everyone just watches the show on whatever device they want.

Yay! I wasn't crazy about Season 8 for a lot of reasons (that I've already talked about here), but Season 9 is much better and Angel & Faith is really good.

Also, since we're talking Buffyverse comics: I cannot recommend Fray enough, if you haven't already read it. It's probably my favorite non-television Whedon project to date.

Uhhh wow, so I'm watching S2 now, most of which I haven't seen in a very long time, and I just watched Go Fish. What the incredible fork? I'm not sure whether to post this here or in the "challenges your feminism" thread but I figure it will make more sense in context to people who have actually seen the show.

(cut for sexual violence triggers)
Spoiler: show
Buffy makes a rape joke? With herself getting raped, as the punchline? While she's been thrown in a pool to be raped by fish monsters? And then she and Xander watch, expressionlessly, as the swim coach gets raped as "punishment" for throwing her to the fish monster rapists, and she makes a joke about how much they must "really love" their swim coach? What the hell? Why are there rape jokes in Buffy? Did I not notice this before or did I just, like, block it out? Why is rape even being used as a plot device? This is really bugging me, I guess because I like to think of this show as being at least slightly better on the feminism scale than the majority of other things out there, and even though obviously it isn't always, I like to think of it as at least being above the level of rape jokes.

I kinda want to just blissfully forget that episode ever happened but I think that would be bad-feminist of me.

The echo from the future thing? That was very disorienting at first - and heartbreaking by the end. I love it.
Buffy binge! Finished Time of Your Life last night, starting on Predators and Prey today.

Oh yeah, Fray makes an appearance in season 8, but I'm talking about her own book: http://www.amazon.com/Fray-Joss-Whedon/dp/1569717516

Ugh it's so good. (And also it's my avatar!)
