He was pretty epic. I don't want to reduce his life's work to one role, but he was perfect as Saruman. (But he had wanted to be Gandalf!)

This...I couldn't see him as anything other than Saruman after those films.

Just this year I taught a unit about Gothic literature to my 10th graders and we listened to some of his readings of Edgar Allan Poe, namely "The Raven" and they loved his voice. He helped me communicate the tone and mood of some of the gothic lit we studied. Thanks, Christopher Lee!
