It appears to be a work in progress, which I guess something like this can only really be.

I love the concept, but I am not sure about the analysis. If you read what the bands say about themselves (not the only source material that should be checked, by any means!) it's not quite the organized revolution that the text indicates. In defense of the piece, though, it is trying sum up quite a bit. I might choose different songs from some of the bands, but that seems picky. I would also like an analysis of the cross-pollination and composition changes throughout the metal genre that influenced both music and bands. Fun site - thanks!

You probably didn't play it, but you might have heard of the game Brutal Legend. It's an action-open-world-RTS that takes places in the land of metal. I might not have enjoyed the game so much if it weren't for the setting and the soundtrack but check it out if you get a chance!

My best friend's brother's band is on the funeral doom list, that was kind of weird. Considering that they're not even popular in our town and still play tiny shows there, it's kind of bizarre to hear that they actually have fans overseas and are considered well-known enough to go on a list like this.

Don't leave us hanging! Haha. Mournful Congregation. We were in LA in July and went to Amoeba, where she was trying to find some CDs from their funeral doom section that he wouldn't have heard of, and some guy started talking to us and suggested Mournful. We kind of laughed and said that yeah, he's heard of them- it's his band, and this guy completely lost his shiitake over it. So weird.

Their metalcore selection makes me sad but I really like the idea of this and it is fun clicking around!
