I just can't. And I'm an industrial electronica synth kid. I'm ashamed to admit that it took me thisssssss long to finally listen to this front to back, and I'm in awe because I've never listened to an entire album EVER where I've liked every single song so much. And hey, it's been a rough week and this is making me super duper cheery. The Clash saved my Friday! Is happeh :3

for the longest time I only liked "Death or Glory" on that record...like since 5th grade...
then about 5 years ago or so I bought the CD at a truck stop late at night on a road trip and played it start to finish for the next 4 hours...maybe that's the key..you gotta listen to it in one sitting. it's in my top 10 records now.

For the past 10 years I have been trying to determine my favorite song on the album, and I just can't. It's so so good.

I LOVE that album! "Rudie Can't Fail" is awesome. "Spanish Bombs", "Brand New Cadillac", "Clampdown"...is that the one with "Whiteman on Hammersmith Pallais"? Love that song too. Now I need to dig up my copy.
On Punknews.org they were saying that Mick and Paul were going to be doing a documentary on the making of the album. Pretty stoked for that! There is also (another) Joe Strummer doc being made.

I didn't like Cut The crepe when it came out but now it's my favorite. What's with that?

No, I don't think that's it. The article I saw was last week: http://www.punknews.org/article/40783Let's not talk about Cut the crepe...so bad. Sorry Isa!

I always like give 'em enough rope better. IsaChandra wrote: I didn't like Cut The crepe when it came out but now it's my favorite. What's with that? When I was little my Dad would play loud rock music to wake us up for school, Cut the crepe used to be my favorite....There is some funny production on that album though.

You can't. It's that good. And now 31 years old, almost to the day!
Uh, my favourite is Train in Vain but there isn't a song on it I don't really really like. It's one of my favourite few albums, and my desert-island one-album choice because I can't imagine ever getting sick of it.

And they said Punk would be dead and buried in a couple of years. 31 years on and people are still enjoying this album. I think I have the original double vinyl stashed away somewhere.

I love this record. I grew up overhearing it, as my dad was a Clash fan, but I remember putting it on when I was in high school for the first time of my own accord, and it sounded totally new and amazing. The title track is my favorite.

My ex-husband tried to steal this album from me after we split up, but all he got was an empty case because I was listening to the cd in my car at the time. Sucker.
