Does anyone else plan to do some shopping on Record Store Day? Anything you're particularly excited about? Here's the list so far, for anyone who hasn't seen it:

Cannot wait for Record Store Day!! There is some good stuff on that list. I've narrowed down my I'm most excited for list the Bowie picture disc, Cure/Dinosaur Jr, Big Mama Thornton, Nirvana, and jimmy page and the Black Crowes... There is still a ton more I'll score if I come across them.

Just last week my husband found a bunch of cheap previous years' record store day only releases at... get ready for it... Best Buy. His biggest score for me was a Janis Joplin album of (good) Pearl rehearsals. So anyway, if there is one near you you might be surprised.

I did all sorts of flailing when I read that Heavens to Betsy's "Calculated" is being released on gold vinyl. That is at the top of my list. Also The Julie Ruin's 7".

I'm intrigued by the Devo stuff. And the Cure/Dinosaur Jr. side by side, and Nirvana, and The Ramones, and Regina Spektor, and The Muppet Movie, and Cake, and Non Violent Femmes, and Garbage, and and and...

I know my boyfriend's getting the R.E.M. box. I suspect he'll also get Frightened Rabbit and LCD Soundsystem.

Me too, me too! I literally squealed with glee at my desk at work when I saw the KRS announcement that they were doing Heavens to Betsy! And I work in a library, so I got some angry glares. But then I got sad that I might not be able to find it around here because I'm on the wrong friggin' coast.

Just had a look through... a lot of stuff looks great, but The Dresden Dolls self titled, Pissed Jeans and Mudhoney all stood out. My boyfriend works in an indie record store and has a hand in picking out which RSD releases they get in (or at least requests which ones they want and hopes for the best), so I may have to be extra nice.

Would really like that Botch re-issue but probably won't be able to afford it.

The Dresden Dolls s/e looks interesting. Every year I get the "Todo Muere" comp put out by the Sacred Bones label as well.

I'm in Seattle and I'm not even sure I'll be able to get it.
