I've had twitter for a year mostly for cookbook stuff, writing about things I eat, spreading vegan-related news, but I still can't get REALLY into it.
I'll tweet things and look at my news feed every so often but that's about it. I feel like I should be a better twitter-er. tweep?

I'm on twitter all the effing time. I use it to network with a lot of other education folks and expats, but i have a dedicated PPK vegans list! They're my favorite.

So, I wanted to get more engaged in the food world (mainly) online, so I thought twitter would be a fun way. I like to see small updates from people, all the things that won't make it into a blog for example. I also thought it would be a nice way to spread the word about my little blog. But I've never even been on Twitter before, so I'm a big newbie! I guess a lot of you guys know more, so..

What do you use it for? How much do you use it? Do you use it as a side thing to your blog? What do you do to interact with people and get followers?

I really don't want it to be an "advertisement" thing for my blog, I just want to get more into the community I love but feel like I'm not a part of!

I use mine to talk about stuff that doesn't really warrant full paragraphs. I also sometimes use it to write stuff down on my phone(my phone is old.)
I also use it as a link to my blog, and to post about art + my cat.

I just joined twitter as well. Not so much so I can tweet, but to have a better way to keep track of traffic problems and also to know about severe weather around here (Florida). I have exactly one tweet so far and 3 followers (please explain, it makes no sense). I'm doing this under my own name, and since I don't want my mother to find this place (she googles my name to help me in job hunting), just PM me and I'll send you the link.

hashtags are similar to labels in a blog. you can search #vegan, and any tweet that someone marked as such will show up. you can add a hashtag for any- and everything... i'm still learning too (i still call it a pound sign)!

The @s are how you tweet to someone (or about someone) so that they will see it.
