In hopes of crashing the site with vegan traffic on october 31st or thereabouts, post good stuff to watch on the spookiest night of the year!

I can't seem to get the human centipede thing in my area, but I can get Fido, a retro-looking zombie spoof-flick. If you need a drinking game, imbibe whenever you hear "aaaarrrg."

Okay, what should we stream on halloween? Please add a rating for scare-factor. For example, Fido only earns 1 hockey-mask out of 5, for lacking anything really scary. However, I'd happily throw popcorn at the screen and enjoy it for costume and set design.

Ooh! I'll have to think about this and check out what's on Netflix instant right now.

Watch a season of Buffy. Probably only one hockey mask, but you'll get your filling of demons.

Let the Right One In. While it's not scary, it's definitely creepy. And Scandinavian!

I disagree. It wasn't scary when I watched it, but then I had nightmares! Maybe it was because the kids were really creepy.

I'm envious. We got Human Centipede, but apparently the US gets Abbot And Costello Meet Frankenstein. ENVY.

Have you seen American Psycho? We watched that the other day and while it was disturbing, I was laughing at some parts, but it wasn't until after the movie ended and it slowly sank in did I become truly disturbed. Now, I don't know what to think. Is this real life?

Suspiria is only 2 hockey masks out of five, but 70s Italian horror! The filmography is cool, especially toward the suspenseful end, and you get to see a SUPER young (and oh-so-dashing) Udo Kier.

I'm a big fan of camp horror, and if you are too, look up Udo Kier (the love of my life!) on netflix and you'll find a lot of campy 70s horror movies for instant view.

Netflix has some good ones right now. I liked:

Aliens
American Zombie
An American Werewolf in London
The Evil Dead
The Exorcist
Let the Right One In
Masters of Horror: Fair Haired Child
Mulholland Dr.
Night of the Living Dead
The Omen
The Seventh Seal
Teeth
Tetsuo: The Iron Man
Townies
Zombieland

scare-factor for all: moderate

I didn't think so, though, I thought it was plenty pretentious.

Did you mean "steaming pile of crepe" or "streaming"? Super camp is just fine w/me!
I've never heard of this one!

And how have I never seen Suspira?
Tetsuo: The Iron Man sounds very f'd up; it includes a drill peen? Really? Sheesh!
I'm loving all these suggestions!

I watched Let The Right One In last weekend and it was awesome, appropriately creepy without the cheap shocks meant to scare you.

I currently have Dracula 1972 in my queue, and Paranormal Activity - I'm probably the only person who hasn't seen it but I don't know if I want to watch it by myself!

Teeth
An American Werewolf in London
Carrie
I Know What You Did Last Summer (what are you waiting for?!!!!)
Let the Right One In
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
The Stepfather remake
The Exorcist

hah, I think I mean both! It's definitely worth checking out if you like the camp ones.

Tetsuo is total madness. I don't think I could watch it a second time!

I haven't seen it either! I had tickets to see the new one last night but couldn't go. I assume they don't need to be seen in order.

Overall it was fairly creepy, but -- the old couple from the airport, the Cowboy, the nightmare scene at Winkie's, unlocking the box/temporal shift = super creepy to me.

Lynch's stuff is creepy in general.

Eraserhead is listed in the horror genre, for those who might want to add it to their Halloween Instant Watch queue, but I always thought it was just pure surrealist awesomeness.

While we're talking about good streaming horror movies, are there any you guys can recommend that aren't very gory? I love horror but gore doesn't do it for me.

I saw it but with rifftrax. It was great but not scary that way.

I'm not watching anything on Halloween, I'm going to be out all night, but how has no one mentioned Rocky Horror Picture Show? C'mon.

Tried to look up townies but failed to find anything that looks creepy. Anyone have an imdb link to the proper version?

The 1960's Wicker Man was pretty campy/entertaining, if you can find it. I just saw Legion and found it yawn-worthy. Both get 1 hockey mask of 5.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120361/*

*Must be Toby Radloff fan. Creepiness not guaranteed. Individual results may vary.
