What'd you think, Randi? I'm finding lots of things really, really predictable but it's still fun.

I'm so annoyed with this show and I can't wait for it to be over! I'm committed to watching it through the end since it's been so long but I really just want them to get to it already!

The Marshall storyline was annoying. I'm not in love with the idea of the whole season taking place over the wedding weekend, but we'll see. I do like the mother, though.

The whole freaking last season is going to be the wedding weekend!! Are you kidding me, I don't think I can take a whole season of this.

Yep - what I've read is that they'll go through how everyone else meets the mother before Ted actually meets her. I don't know if that's fact or speculation, though.

I'm let down by the mother-Ted interaction. For all the build up I was expecting some like instant chemistry between them and it's just whatever.

They are saving that for the last episode. One must be patient and wait for chemistry! 9 seasons worth of waiting! I'm kind of bitter at this point can you tell?

Oh my god I forgot that it's all going to be over this same weekend. Oh man alive I already have agita. It needs to move forward more! I enjoyed this episode, but I didn't laugh. I don't want every episode to have a potential impediment to Barney and Robin's marriage! And I don't want big potential problems for Marshall & Lily! And now my fave James is divorced? Haven't we stuck with this show long enough that it's finally ok for everyone to be happy? I just want everyone to be happy! I must say though, Cristin Miliotti is PERFECTIONNNNN. I'm so happy she's the mother. I adore her and I think she was great in this episode. I love that she's stranger-bffs with Lily already. Gotta veganize somebitches.

not feeling it. and by 'it', I mean her.

it seemed like they were trying too hard to make the mother be perfect for Ted (the road trip stuff etc) so that we will buy into her more. But it was too forced. and that makes me sad.

I felt this way too. I think the reason I'm not loving the mother is because they seem to be making her the female version of Ted, and I really can't stand Ted after all of this time.

It's always been like that, though. From the beginning- "your mother loved it too." "your mother was there, too." etc. It made total sense to me for Ted to stop and say how much she liked that stuff, too, as Lily complained to the mother. And I liked the first interaction- they've already been dating a year at that point, so they're comfortable and happy with each other.

It isn't hilarious, by any means, but it's still good. "Ring bear" was great, but I'm pretty much over Barney and Robin's relationship. I'm really excited for Marshall's storyline, and Lily and Linus! I think it'll play out really well, it's just starting with a slow roll.

Yeah Linus was my favorite part, haha. And the ring bear, although it would have been cuter if maybe Barney honestly thought that that was what it was called.

I'm so bored of this show that I just realized I haven't seen the last 3 or 4 episodes. I'm trudging through this season because I can't NOT see it through to the end, but it's totally a chore.

Has anyone been keeping up with this season? Because if the ending is going to where I think it is going I am NOT going to be happy.

i think i know what you mean, and i don't like it, either. nobody needs to learn that lesson! it won't build character! and even if it would, like, who cares, just give us our happy endings. you're a sitcom, not a lifetime move.

I read a speculation article a couple days ago that's referring to the unhappy ending. I have watched very little of this season (mainly because I just totally forget about it), but I still want a happy ending, dangit!

They came up with the unhappy ending theory because apparently it was super obvious in the last episode. I've rewatched it now, and I still don't see it! But I'm sort of bored now.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I even had my husband watch that part - and he hates the show - and he said he didn't get that impression from that bit, either.

I was bored as soon as I read that the entire last season was taking place over the wedding weekend. Nothing I've seen yet has made me change my mind. Well, the trailer for this coming Monday looks promising - The Captain is back! Ahoy!

I loved this show until Marshall's dad died, and ever since I think every single episode has made me cry for one reason or another. Sitcoms aren't supposed to do that!

I'm sooo bad-tripped about this inevitable turn of events. I think it was pretty obvious that

Spoiler: show
the mother is dying, and while we are meeting her in flashforwards, when we finally meet her in real time at the end, we're also going to see her die in the flashforwards.

It's a really nice full-circle-without-the-actual-circle twist in the framing of the show...but I still cannot believe how f-ing sad that is going to be. I appreciate that it's actually going to be good - like the whole point of the show makes SO much more sense now - but still, that's f-ing sad.
