He seems open to adoption. Though it still leaves Robin not wanting kids, even if she's upset she can't have them.

I'm choosing to take the last episode to state that Robin never had kids, biologically or adopted, because the language used and emotion shown was so powerful that if it was only about biological children, it would be really offensive to adoptive families. So I'm kind of hoping they don't do it because it would weaken and cheapen that episode.

They try so hard to be extra sitcom-like that some of the performances are really awkward. The progression in acting and writing is truly amazing after seeing the first few episodes.

So I'm kind of hoping they don't do it because it would weaken and cheapen that episode. I thought they went out of their way to leave the door open for Robin to still have kids. At the end Ted lists all these things Robin does in the future and then when you almost think he'll says, "But she was never a mom," he says, "But she was never alone." I'm half expecting her to tell Ted she's pregnant at the wedding ("Ted the bride wants to see you"). I could be really missing something, but why would it be offensive? I mean, the not-real kids was dumb, but I don't think being upset your body can't make babies is an affront to adoption.

I'm just getting into this show. I could not get into it at first for the longest time no matter how hard I tried. I found all the characters obnoxious and the constant flashbacks very confusing and annoying as well. The more I watch it though, the more I appreciate it.

just watched this week's episode. some of the vegan stuff made me slightly cringe-y but it didn't turn out all that badly in the end. i totally laughed when he grabbed the veggie & hummus tray and took it with him into the next room.

I've totally wanted to yell at people for that same thing before. I hate when people kill the vegan dish first! I really like HIMYM episodes like tonight's...where they play with time. It was such a silly episode.

oh yes, i can definitely relate! i just get nervous when vegans are depicted as shrill killjoy types. but like i said, it didn't turn out as bad as i feared.

It was such a silly episode. I hate it too - like when my boss makes an effort to buy vegan food and the people who give me shiitake about my veganism eat it all. Back to HIMYM - When are Barney and Robin going to get together again?

Yeah, I was afraid that the way things were going with the vegan boss, that at the end he was gonna be like, "I'm not vegan anymore!" So when he didn't do that, I was pretty happy. [I also really like Martin Short and am glad to see him again...just like I was when John Lithgow showed up as Barney's dad!]

My TiVo summary for the episode in two weeks says: That Ted reveals his true feelings to Robin after she breaks up with Kevin. I hope it doesn't mean what I think it means.

I'm so confused. Are the writers high or have they just not watched the last several seasons?

not really a spoiler below this cut, just referencing tonight's ep...
Seriously, we know Robin isn't the mother, I don't want to watch them date again! And I want Robin to be with Barney! Damn it!
