Yep yep. Plus, I just really don't like the way he's basically comparing her to a prostitute every week and trying to change her. The only way this will be okay is if Quinn dumps him and he gets back together with Robin, crushing Ted forever. I like that idea a lot.

This could probably just as easily go in the "Who challenges the feminism in your life" thread I guess, but it irritated me that Ted wanted Barney to set him up with a stripper. Of course, all the men who seem to think dating a stripper is a great idea on the show seem to only be seeing strippers as sex maniacs who'd be great as sex partners. That whole attitude objectifies women way too much for my liking. [Obviously strippers are objectified by most men who go to strip clubs, but to want to date one as pretty much a "live" sex toy is disgusting.] As far as Barney goes, I agree with you guys that he should want to have a serious conversation with her: a conversation, not a monologue (especially when that monologue is stated in either joking terms or judgemental harshness).

I think I'm just not going to watch until the last episode, I'm expecting Barney to have the talk with Quinn and either pressure her into quitting her job or marry him so he can feel better.

I keep telling myself that, but I end up caving and watching it every week anyways. Honestly though I just want the damn show to end. I think it's way overdue. I just want to know who the fork Ted ends up with.

Hasn't this been renewed for another 2 years or something?
At least this Monday is Barney's wedding episode so we're supposed to have Ted meet the mom then, right?

Ahhh I'm so excited! Don't we find out who Barney marries tonight? Is anyone else still hoping it's Robin? Wait do we find out who the mother is tonight? Did not know that!

I'm sooooo excited it's Barney and Robin, but at the same time I'm so aggravated that we still haven't met the mother yet. All this time I've been counting down to this season's finale because it was going to end at the wedding and we were finally going to meet the mother. I'm also kind of wondering how on earth there will be someone at Barney and Robin's wedding that Ted hasn't already met, but my friend has a theory that it's Barney's half sister that's been mentioned.

What's the cliffhanger? Just the mother? I don't think we were going to meet her anyway so I'm pleased w it all.

I dont buy the Robin and Barney story. I think they are setting us up for a twist. Could be wrong though.

Wasn't the mother Rachel Bilson's former roommate? Maybe I'm remembering that wrong.
I feel like that episode was just so weird. Like, really? Marvin Waitforit Erickson? And Barney's magic thing at the airport was so over the top. It just all seemed so... odd. But not the same odd that I usually see in this show. But then again I haven't really been watching much this season!

I think they have alluded to so many possible mother's over the years that I am just lost! If it is Victoria I am happy with that, she was the cupcake girl and I liked that story line.
And I must not pay enough attention when I watch this show. The season finale left me confused. If felt like they tried to pull too many elements of past shows into this ending. Maybe it was me though. But I was like what the hell is going on? And I still think that something is going to change with us thinking that Robin is supposed to be Barney's bride.

i agree, these eps were kind of weird. i'm really happy that it's robin, but i feel like it's tOtally cheating to make this wedding still "really" be pretty far in the future. so now we have to watch robin and barney not together for awhile, knowing for sure that they eventually end up together anyway? meh.

No it was def Rachel Bilson's roommate. And the mother is not Victoria bc Ted meets her for the first time at Barney's wedding (and they've said a lot that it's not her). And I think the Barney's half sister hypothesis is the best guess.

Ugh, this show man. I like it, but it drives me bonkers trying to keep up with the story lines.

Yes, there's a lot to remember That is one of the things that I love and hate about the show. If you watch episodes again you pick up on so many things that come back again. If you only catch a few episodes here and there, you won't get half the jokes.

I've seen the entire show at least twice fully through, most episodes three times. It's Rachel Bilson's roommate who is the mom. Victoria didn't have a roommate that was ever mentioned- she dated Ted, left for Germany, got with Klaus, was engaged to Klaus, and is now running off with Ted.
I think it was a good finale and it's starting to wrap up a lot. Ted likes to revisit people he's dated (ahem. Robin), and he really tries until he absolutely murders the relationship, so the Victoria bit makes sense, since he never got the opportunity to thoroughly kill it.

I wanted Barney and Robin to end up together, so I'm happy with the reveal. I also like Quinn and that she's happy with who she is, but I don't think she and Barney would be happy together after she quit a job she loves for him.
