Huge fan of the show. Love me some Bryan Cranston. I have a hard time with Skyler, though. Anna Gunn is a terrible actress, just terrible. Just a silly nit-picky question: do you think they could have chosen better colors for the baby's room? Sheesh.

I think Anna Gunn rocks it when Skylar gets badass moments. I have a sinus pressure headache, so I'm struggling with specifics, but she has this one monologue about cards or something that I thought was all kinds of awesome. I think most of the acting on this show is stellar.
(Oh, but Jesse Pinkman for the win. I love him so hard! Especially at the end of last season where I was just *breaking* for him!)

I don't like her, either. I'm also kind of sick of traditionally beautiful women being cast opposite normal-looking men. They are such an odd pair visually. Especially because she seems to have had some serious work done since the first season.

You guys, TONIGHT! I am so excited. And I have to say that I am a little bewildered by all of the Skyler hate. There are occasionally things about her that I don’t like, but Walt and Jesse do far (far!) more contemptible things and I'm still able to sympathize with them. I love that Skyler is given a multi-dimensional personality of her own, I love that she has become something of a badass in her own right, and I think Anna Gunn is amazing - as is everyone on the show, of course, but she often seems to be overlooked and that's a shame.

I went and read reviews from AV Club and Alan Sepinwall, like I always do for shows I like. I ventured into the comments, forgetting the adage, "Don't read the comments."
-Lot of shitty comments about Anna Gunn's physical appearance. -Half-baked theories about Victor and Gale being lovers. -People misunderstanding why Gus killed Victor ("He was mad that Victor knew how to cook!") -Suggestions that the Denny's scene homage to "Pulp Fiction" should have been more blatant. ("Somebody should have said Honey Bunny!")
The AV Club reviewer characterized Mike as "rolling his eyes" at Walt and Jesse as they struggled with the barrel. I don't think Mike literally rolled his eyes. The funny thing is, on "Wiseguy," Jonathan Banks rolled his eyes and mugged for the camera all the f'n time. By the way...
I thought it was a great piece of work that Mike instinctively drew his gun during the killing.
Also, I liked Jesse's "Trust us," not because it was a reference to the first season, but because I read it as Jesse trying to be intimidating, letting Mike know that him and Walt have experience dropping bodies.
The most puzzling thing right now, for me, is Hank's mineral collection. Fans are speculating he's trying to figure out how the blue meth is made (I don't buy it). The missus told me she thinks either Hank's trying a new-age healing solution, or, he just needs a hobby to distract himself.
Very excited for the new season. Still have my season 3 promotional air freshener dangling from the rear view, though it doesn't smell like anything anymore and the missus wants me to remove it. I'm insisting we save it, but she points out we don't have a television promotional air freshener scrapbook.

Yeah, that's what I thought it was as well, crystal mineral healing.

Huh, it didn't even occur to me to wonder why he was looking at minerals on the internet. Poor Hank.

The scene where Victor was starting the new batch of meth reminded me of that scene from Flowers for Algernon (the movie) when Charly starts the bread making machine all by himself.
I am wondering about Hank and the gems. I worry about him.
I loved that the size tag sticker was still on Walt's shirt.
Man, I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

I love the way the whole Gus scene unfolded; tv is often so rushed to get to the next plot point that things don't happen in real time. The Gus scene was all real time, beginning with his entrance into the lab and the noisy, deliberate walk down the stairs. Good filmmaking, in my opinion.

The Television Without Pity recaps and forum are fun to read. The mods and posters there are pretty intolerant of asinine speculation, and the recaps often give new perspective on the episodes. http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/sh ... cutter.php

Just have to say I seriously think this is the best show on television. Watched all of the first three seasons live, then watched them again waiting for Season 4 to start. I've never done that for a show before, but you really get something out of it the second time. I think one of my favorite episodes so far was actually the one where the least happened: the fly in the lab. That could be a one-act play. It was unbelievably tense and perfect. I can NOT wait for the next episode on Sunday. Did anyone read the long NY Times article on the show a few weeks ago? Totally worth it: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/10/magaz ... bad&st=cse

Man, I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. Haha, I had never been into the show/watched it and the bf actually loves it; so I was watching it with him and I commented on the size tag thing xD

She is! I like how they're kind of working as as team now.
This season is DARK, though. I mean, the whole show has been dark, but it's really intense right now. I hate seeing Jesse so out of sorts.

Is it me or the last two episodes kinda weak? I really hope they don't squeeze another episode out of the carwash.

Not weak. Just a slow burn. Plus, they're coming off a conclusion to a cliffhanger, so it's all relative.
