What a wild episode! I don't hate Walt and even though he's done terrible things I'm rooting for him. I feel like all the characters are too complex to love or hate. I was pretty surprised Jr. called the police.

I feel like this is the only show that doesn't spell things out for the audience, which is so nice. Like it took a few seconds for me to figure out that Walt was clearing Skylar's name. I wish more shows were like that.

Yes! I love that about this show too!

When they were rolling around fighting for the knife I was so scared someone would be accidentally stabbed! I yelled out at the tv, "look out!!!" and it scared my cats.

It makes you wonder if Gus, Mike, that family of meth addicts where the dad got the ATM on his head, all started off as decent, regular people whose flaws turned them into thugs over time.

that's what i think is one of the really interesting things about this show. it makes you really feel for characters with huge ugly flaws.

i mean i loved Mike. i was so sad when he died but ummmm yeah he's a murderer for hire!

Gus was no different than Tuco in his job really (i guess GUs was a bigger big wig but still the same thing) but Tuco was easily hatable because he was nuts and openly violent. Gus you never saw actually commit any acts of violence until he slit that guys throat which still baffles me.

when Hank got shot i screamed out loud and woke the baby up.....ooops.
i didnt expect Hank to die so unceremoniously

I liked the way Hank died. His character is a totally shallow human being, but he has his rules and he sticks to them. He didn't beg or bargain.

I keep thinking back to the opening scene of one of the episodes where meth Damon and his uncle (s?) are sitting in a diner talking, and at the end of the scene they focus on the bloody tissue not flushing completely down the toilet. Everything seems to mean something on this show, so I've got to wonder if that tissue will somehow be their downfall.

This show kills me. Every time my fiance & I watch we are arguing* over who is the worst** and each episode makes it really hard to decide. Nearly everybody does terrible stuff but then you see how miserable they are, and you're totally rooting for them. I anticipate the ending being an exercise in "let's see how sad we can make the audience."

* not like, arguing arguing, but you know.
** his most hated character right now is Marie which is just amusing to me.

Last night I also had the thought that maybe Jesse will blow up the lab in order to protect Brock. An episode or so ago they made it a point that NeoNazi Uncle wasn't wearing any protective gear. I don't think that would necessarily save him from an explosion but it could be an allusion to an accident that will happen at a later point.

Anddddd, I have been planning a trip to SF for awhile now, and its this week and I'm excited and have been making plans, scoping out places, etc and JUST NOW HAD THE EPIPHANY THAT I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WATCH BREAKING BAD ON SUNDAY! Doh.

Dude, Marie is so self righteous and hypocritical and just downright annoying, I can see him not liking her one bit!

emmalv, will you be on the road at 9pm? I would totally go to my hotel or find a bar that was showing it if not!

The only thing Marie has done was shoplifting for a while and being slightly annoying.

I don't get the Marie hate. I would probably be self-righteous too if I was her. Sure she's kind of annoying but that seems like a petty grievance on a show with the likes of Walter White and Todd the Sociopath.

I don't understand why they never bring up the shoplifting thing because it's a pretty big deal. Sure, it's not the level of meth cook, but if my sister was shoplifting baby tiaras to give to me and then I tried to return it and was held because they think I stole it...I don't know...I would be madder than they all acted.

I've been wondering about that too, they never show stuff that has no real point, it's got to come back around to *something*.

Skylar: You gave me a shoplifted tiara 2 years ago

Marie: You are money laundering for your meth cook & murderer husband

I didn't like that she forced Skylar into telling Jr. about Walt. Or tried to make off with Holly. Messing with other people's kids is a big deal.

Totally. I felt like she was doing ok with her spiel up until that point. Forgiveness, supportive, but firm. Then it was more like she was wielding this power over Skylar and just browbeating her.

She forced a money launderer of a murdering drug dealer to be honest to her own sun about she and her husband do. She tried to take her niece away from a couple in the drug business, who had people showing up at their house to set it on fire.
