This is a woman who puts soy milk in chamomile tea. Her tastebuds are suspect to start with.

I mean, really - how the hell did he get the ricin in a stevia packet? Even if he made the packet himself - how?

Laser printer, 18 pound bond (or 20 pound basic laser printer paper. Who pays that much attention to their sugar packet? besides me, I guess. you could do it with a white paper towel, actually, although that might be harder to laser print onto), scissors, white glue, 3 minutes assembly, 30 minutes drying time. Who looks that closely at their sweetener packet?

Walk in, knowing which table she likes. Take out the stevia packets in that thingy, leave just the one. Lurk nearby. Watch as plan unfolds.

Oh yeah, and you wouldn't pay a waitress to put it in the tea, because then somebody else knows, and other people are always trouble.

This. The motivation for all five seasons. Finally Walt is honest with himself and with Skyler.

I loved it. I loved the dynamics between Walt and Jesse at the end - the way Walt threw himself on Jesse to protect him from the bullets. And then the way Walt offered himself up to Jesse.

To my mind, this was a show with virtually no stumbles. The writing, acting, and editing were all great.

Doesn't Jesse still have his house? And maybe he didn't throw all his money around on the street. He could still have millions.

yeah, something like this. I highly doubt we're supposed to believe he made a stevia packet.

i feel like if he was able to make that crazy machine gun thing that popped out of his trunk via car fob remote and all the other wacky things he made throughout the show getting the ricin in the stevia packet was probably a cake walk for him

Yeah, he bought the house outright from his parents for way below market value. He definitely still has at least that.

yeah, i don't think jesse has to run. chances are, the nazis might not have destroyed walt's phone confession. or jesse's videotape. i doubt the authorities are going to be bugging him at all. (even if they don't find the evidence.) walt wrapped it up pretty solidly.

what i am wondering though is... who called the cops at the end? i guess jesse? but i don't think jesse really knew exactly where they were. i guess lydia, since she knew she was forked anyway.

There was a ton of rapid gunfire. I assumed the cops showed up just because of that noise.

aaah! ok, i was under the assumption that that compound was super isolated. (also, i was surprised that the lab wasn't underground.)

Isolated or not, a light machine gun (an M60-- you don't want to see a _heavy_ machine gun!) firing at 600 rounds per minute for the time it takes to empty a box of ammo is going to be LOUD and is going to attract a lot of attention, even to the people who live downwind from the meth nazi compound. (That's 200 rounds, I believe, and before anyone asks, yes, NATO 7.62 at that range would go through a car's bodywork and plywood siding and drywall without much trouble at all. Plus after the first time around, there's not much sheet metal left and it's just plywood and drywall and meth nazis to slow down the rounds.)

So I read this blog by a scriptwriter, Todd Alcott, and he had some interesting stuff to say about the structure of Breaking Bad:

http://www.toddalcott.com/breaking-bad- ... -plot.html

"Breaking Bad is the first show that I can think of, an hour-long drama, a continuous story, where everything that happens in the plot is an extension of the central premise."

...so yeah. There's no B-plot and no side quests. A man makes a decision; that decision leads to everything else that happens. Pretty interesting. (Compare to The Wire, where each episode could have maybe 15 or 20 different plot threads wound through it...)

It would be cool if they did occasional 1 shot movies showing how the other characters had moved on.

Jessee becomes a drug counsleor. Badger and Skinny Pete move to Boulder to open up a pretzel shop next to a pot store.
