If Saul gets a show, these guys should too.

Marie adopts a baby and dresses it in nothing but purple. Until it is 12.

I don't think I've ever been happier with a series finale. Great job all around. I hope this is the beginning of a long successful career for Aaron Paul.

Maybe she does something like a modern day Mary Tyler Moore.

Single quirky police widow moves to a new city to start life over. Occasional appearances by her wacky relatives who were inadvertantly mixed up with crime.

I think these two models can peacefully co-exist.

But now every time I picture Marie I'm going to be humming "I'm going to make it after all."

That makes me want to binge-watch the whole series.

We checked out the pre-order price for the Breaking Bad DVD set to be released in November - $210! But it comes bundled in a cool plastic barrel. that would make for a great stay at home winter weekend.

Anyone else notice the food over the course of the series?

At home WW always had what I think would be much more than usually fancy choices. Maybe just the number. Cereal, toast, fruit salad.

Tuco, as crazy and violent as he was, made burritos from scratch for Walter and Jessee. Drug dealers that cook. Wow.

Gus doing that fancy stew.

WW, though making a million a month for gus, brown bags PB & J sanwiches.

Then there was Gayle with his organic green tea and recipe for vegan smores.

Jessee and Wendy were the only people whose relationship to food was as I expected it to be.

one theory about this is that Heisenberg took on characteristics of people he killed.
he started making the pbj sammiches with the crust cut off after he killed Krazy 8

after he killed Mike he starting drinking whatever drink Mike had ordered at the bar (Scotch neat?)

He didn't start eating vegan smores after he had Jesse kill Gayle. Maybe he has to kill them himself.

I think you may be right, I have a vague memory of him using the "Mr. Chemistry" coffee set up.

Still, WW was making a million dollars a month, he could have brown bagged something more interesting for lunch.

yeah, i don't think jesse has to run. chances are, the nazis might not have destroyed walt's phone confession. or jesse's videotape. i doubt the authorities are going to be bugging him at all. (even if they don't find the evidence.) walt wrapped it up pretty solidly.

what i am wondering though is... who called the cops at the end? i guess jesse? but i don't think jesse really knew exactly where they were. i guess lydia, since she knew she was forked anyway.

I totally forgot about this thread until just now, so I'm late to the discussion, but I'd assumed Skyler called the cops. Walt gave her the GPS coordinates and told her that was where they'd find Hank's body after everything was over that night. I think he even told her to give the coordinates to the police, yes?

(also, it broke my heart when we realise that jesse building the box was all a daydream) :-(

It could still happen. He is free. The DEA might find the video he did for Hank and let him stay that way.

i almost read it as a flashback to when he was in high school shop class building a box (correct me if i totally fabricated that, it's been a while since i've seen the earlier episodes - was there one where he shows his brother a box he made and mentions he was good in shop class? or talks about it to walter or someone else?), and if he had gone the carpenter route, rather than the meth route, he'd have a peaceful life, rubbing tung oil on fine carpentry, rather than being a prisoner of nazi meth lords.

but yeah... the finale was perfect. i'm going to miss jesse!

he talked about making a perfect box when he was in rehab. (i was under the impression that he hadn't made the box at that point, but my memory is fuzzy.)

YOU GUYS.

we watched all 62 episodes in 14 consecutive nights. holy monkey in the banana patch, i love the shiz out of that show. sooooo glad i finally got a chance to watch. AMC did a marathon of every episode from dec 27-30, so i recorded them all and we sat on the couch every night for a few hours. i didn't want it to end, but i couldn't stop watching.

i loved jesse so so much, and i'm so happy walt saved him. i really felt the need for an epilogue after the finale, though! i need to know what everyone is up to. mike was amazing and i was super sad about what happened to him. i could go on forever with my stream-of-consciousness rambling, but after reading 25 pages of this thread it's probably mostly been said.

i would love a compendium of my favorite breaking bad quotes, though, because for a show that was Decidedly Not A Comedy, there were sure a ton of hilarious lines.
