Positive Sims 3 thread! :-)

Any cheats, hints, funny stories, screen shots to share?

I found this one that I want to try out. Ghost Baby:

Set one of your female Sim's traits to Kleptomaniac. Go to the graveyard, and have the Sim steal male remains. On the second day after putting the male remains in your home, a ghost will appear at 11:00 p.m. and disappear at 4:00 a.m. It will appear every other day. Socialize with the ghost every night it appears. When you become best friends with the ghost, it will begin appearing every night. Get the "Fertility" reward. Confess your attraction to the ghost. Ask to snuggle on the bed, and kiss him. Try for a baby every night until you start throwing up. You will now have a ghost baby that you can control.

Ghost babies are tough! Ghosts are not so much for woo hooing, I've noticed. And I tried with deceased husbands!

Yo, death - what's up?

eta: I stopped cheating - it spoiled the fun for me.

Gotta love a kleptomaniac that's into necrophilia. Or is it necrophilia when it's a ghost?

Anyway, I love Sims 3 just don't get to play it much.

I loooove the sims. My favorite cheat is motherlode (ctrl + shift + C and then the cheat) for lots of money, other than that I don't use cheats.

This game brings out the worst in me, I swear.

I use "motherlode" and "testcheatsenabled true" (I think that's it. It's morning and I'm super sleepy). That way if I'm in the middle of something and don't feel like taking a break to sleep, I can hold shift, click on the mailbox, and select "make all happy". All of your bars fill back up and you can continue what you're doing.

I love Sims 3! Have you had a chance to test out the console version? I have the one for xbox360 and it's pretty fun. Controlling is easier than I thought, and it's more goal-oriented. There's also a karma feature that allows you to collect and disperse karma points and resulting phenomena. You can make it rain fire and brimstone or haunt others if you wish!

I hate when my bars get low and I don't want to stop what I'm doing. I haven't played in awhile, I am definitely going to try this.

I love the sims! I haven't played it since I moved (4 1/2 months) and I am craving it constantly.
Anyone have Late Night expansion pack? How is it?

Why is watching little cartoon chefs get angry about their sink breaking so much fun?

I like Late Night. It was glitchy but I downloaded a new patch today - not sure if that helps. I'd call it worth it, especially if you can get it on sale, and I think I've seen it on sale. Vamps and bars and celebrities and hot tubs! There's news out of a new stuff pack - outdoor living or whatever. I have all of them except the racing one.

Everything - Why is it so fun in general? I did always love to play with dollhouses and this is sort of an expanded deluxe dollhouse. I don't know. I haven't played in at least a month, possibly 2-3 and there are times when I think about it a lot too.

It IS like playing house, only it's on a computer. (which makes it even more fun.)

I have to wait to do a memory upgrade on my desktop before I do any expansion packs... The game itself is glitchy right now. Hehe.

Oh hey, just making sure you guys know - once you hit level 10 of the culinary career, you get a fridge you can't buy that keeps stuff good forever - no more spoiled food!

Ummm... My food doesn't seem to go back unless I leave it out or in my inventory (instead of the fridge).

So the ghost baby seems to be like a work in progress, but I am being a creeper and painting portraits of the people I sleep with and hanging them on my wall... Fun side-hobby of my Sim. :-p She's also a home wrecker since all of the male Sims seem to be in relationships in this damn game...

Oooh. TS2 kept getting into catfights with my Macbook, but this is looking really tempting. I wonder if three would hate my computer as much as two did...

bad? i assume it is unless you just didn't notice, or you have a glitch.

xGreen - TS3 seems both less and more picky, at least as far as my PC is concerned. It runs on my macbook, but it gets HOT. i have a macbook pro that's only a little over a year old. but TS3 has been on sale for $19 lately! (as opposed to the $65 i spent for the deluxe pack -grr)

Vamp! I had to try.

Before being a vamp - the wedding. She's a level 4 . . .5? star. I think - it's been awhile since I played.

It runs really well on mine. In fact, this thread is really making me wish that I had brought TS3 to school with me. . . or maybe not. I would most likely never leave my room or do homework or anything.

did anyone ever try to do those sims legacy challenges from the forums? 10 generations with no cheats, you had to have a certain amount of land, and you got points for different things that happened.

The closest I got was taking a family through 10 generations, no cheats. Then of course I installed a new game and shiitake didn't update right and I had to uninstall and reinstall. The Sekemoto family, how I miss you.
