The first half hour was really funny and promising. And the rest was kind of a turd. That's my review!

Just saw this movie yesterday. I loved it! There was way more action in it than I thought there would be for some reason.

I liked it, but I think it's my least favorite of the three. Hot Fuzz is my favorite. That movie is kind of perfect. This one had all the comedy stuff right on, but the plot wasn't as good, IMO. Still, I'll take Simon Pegg and Nick Frost doing their thing any day. It was fun and I'm glad I saw it in the theater.

I LOVED it. I think nothing can really come close to Shaun of the Dead, though, because that movie was just such a wonderful surprise (at least to me). I was easily the nerdiest/most Pegg/Wright/Frost-obsessed in my group of 5 that went to see it, and kept getting excited at little references that nobody else was getting and arrrrgh I wanted to share my nerddom with someone!

Spoiler: show
It was Mary the zombie from Shaun sitting next to Gary in the group therapy session!
Marcia from Spaced at the B&B and Brian at the pub!
The fruit machine jingle that plays when Nick Frost checks out the back door of the pub for 'The Beast' is the same as in Shaun!
Jessica Hines' "Rabbit rabbit rabbit!" performance art circus music from the end of S1E3 of Spaced used as a sample in the opening song!
Going to jump a fence and having it fall completely down! HAAA!

And of course, Cornetto.

Also, what a soundtrack! Suede and Sisters of Mercy!?

I think this ranks just below Shaun of the Dead for me. Hot Fuzz is fantastic, but what can I say, I guess I like Sci Fi and Horror better than Mystery?

I screeched when I saw Marsha from Spaced! The fence thing was great, too! This is one of those movies that I was supposed to super love and everyone who loves the same things as me loves, but for some reason it didn't quite do it for me. But I guess saying it's my least favorite of the three is still pretty darn good.

I was so excited to see Marcia too. I only wish they'd used her more! Spaced is still tops for me where this group is concerned, then Shaun of the Dead, and then this one. For some reason Hot Fuzz just didn't do it for me; although, I'd like to watch it again and see if I'd feel differently now.

We saw it this weekend and loved it. It made me laugh and feel thirsty and homesick for England in equal measure. And could Nick Frost be any more hilarious/adorable? Every time he makes what I think of as his "frustrated bear" sound, I fall about the place. Let's booboo!

Jojo and I went to see all 3 together and I really really loved it. Not as much as SoTD or Hot Fuzz yet, but it needs another watch or two.

I was pissing myself at Simon Pegg's super lame insults! "Oh fork off you big lamp!" That was my favourite line in the whole film.

I'm pretty obsessed with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright is a fantastic director. So naturally, I loved it. I saw it after a kind of craptastic day at work and it made me laugh my buns off, and really what more can you ask for from a movie? It was a very original idea, which I appreciate when nearly every movie I see previews for is a remake or a sequel or a prequel. The casting was great. It was fun seeing Nick play a stuffy business guy and Simon play a drunk manchild.

1) Ok ok, its time I watch Spaced!
2) I did catch the last one of those and was probably the only person super cracking up. I need to show Shaun of the Dead to my friend, because she hadn't seen it!

And I rank it in the middle between Shaun and Hot Fuzz, as well.

Went to see this yesterday. Thought it was hilarious even with the ridiculous/lame-o-licious plot. I don't care. I love those guys.

it did make me thirsty for beers so went out after the show for a couple and found myself suspicious of the waitress, she seemed like a "Blank". Since you can't be too careful, I asked her if she was a robot. She denied it but I still don't believe her :-)

I saw it last weekend and liked it. But Hot Fuzz is definitely the best. I make my family watch it every Thanksgiving.

I can fully support that.

That is insanity! Although I can totally understand that this movie is excellent on its own. I can't wait to hear what you friend thinks of Shaun! What I kind of loved about Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's characters in this one are that they are almost complete reversals of their roles in Shaun. Simon Pegg is now the manchild in suspended animation, and Nick Frost is the more responsible one, albeit far more advanced in a high-earning career than Shaun was. It's almost like the characters from Shaun, ten years later, when the maturity gap becomes harder to ignore.

I look forward to seeing it again so I can really enjoy it, since by then the shock of Simon Pegg being so squirmingly unlikable will have wore off.
