I watched the first season a few months ago and couldn't get into it, but I randomly decided to watch two episodes from season 2 last night and I liked it! It seemed like it was trying to be less like The Office and it was a lot funnier than I remember.

Yeah, it started off a bit slowly, trying too hard to be The Office, but once the characters were more developed, it became the best thing on tv.

Yeah, S2 is soooo much better than S1. It's kinda how crazy how good this show got.

I love this show. April and Andy = cutest TV couple since the good ole Jim and Pam days when the Office was still good.

I LOVE this show! There's not a dud among the characters. Ron Swanson "we still don't talk sometimes", Andy and his superstraw, Leslie's steel resolve. At first I thought I wasn't going to like Rob Lowe on this, but he's really good! The flu episode was *literally* one of the most phenomenal TV shows I've ever seen. I'm such a child, but I cracked up at his "stop. pooping" line. I even rewatched it a couple times!

When I was watching the Puppy Bowl on Sunday I decided the only way it could be better was if the dude who plays Andy was the referee. So cute!

some things: - adam scott, i've had a crush on you since you were in 2 episodes of six feet under as the guy who wanted david to be out, and you just get more and more awesome and adorable and this character in parks and rec is possibly MORE lovable than the his character in party down? and also there is this. (you're welcome!) - rob lowe is so perfect! everytime he comes on screen, i get happy! - andy and ron eating burritos and then running passes in the parking lot! - andy and chris making a plan for how andy can get april back! "why do i want to help him? because he's a good person. i LOVE good people." !!!!!!! "what's great about you?" "i'm nice." "GOOD! NICE! what else?" "i'm in a band." "BAND!" you guys, if they made a spinoff that was just andy and chris, i would watch the shiitake out of that show. - TWILIGHT. "sometimes i think SHE's in the vulturi." AHAHAHAHAHA! you guys, maybe i had two lattes today and then another half cup of coffee at brunch but holy shiitake these last few episodes of parks and rec have been their best so far, i think. right?

This was an amazing episode! Ben's utter awkwardness and lack of charisma was summed up perfectly by Tom: "You should just slap a pair of ray-bans on a calculator, because that would be way more charming."
And as always, Andy's incompetence was well-appreciated. Next time I'm late I'm gonna say it was because I had to massage a ton of feet.
In fact, everyone was at their character's best (or at least at their most charactery-ist) in this ep. What I mean is they don't sacrifice a character for a cheap joke so every interaction or line is a winner.

Man, everything Ben did was hilarious. I loved watching him freeze up on the radio show. It was just so painful and terrible to watch. I also loved his answer when he was asked about Pawnee: "There are a lot of cars." AND after frozen, nonverbal Ben is established, they cut to the tape with him ranting, "WHO HASN'T HAD GAY THOUGHTS!?" OMG, it was just so amazing. The whole Perd segment was.
I thought Ben snapped out of it a little too easily at the end, but I'll forgive that because the rest was so good!
I also love it when Andy hangs out with Ron. I don't even know how the Andy we met in S1 became so freaking lovable, but he really did. I loved it when he was asked if he was trying to lure April's sister (Natalie?) into his van. "Yes." And then when he went on to say it wasn't even his van, because he'd stolen it from a friend! Oh, Andy.

I LOVE this show! I used to be a total 30Rock junkie, but now I'm netflixin' (and watching on regular scheduled broadcasts) the fork out of Parks & Rec.

There's no "token" characters, and stereotypes almost never come into play. They're all so original. That's what I like about it more than The Office, even in its hey-day, I never felt like they respected their characters/diversity the way this show does. Also, Leslie tripping in the flu episode was soooo good. "Woah. Careful." "What?" "The floor and the wall just switched. Walk very...carefully...."
