I lauged so hard at Letters to Cleo, and Ginuwine singing "Pony" in memoriam to Lil Sebastian. So good.

The only way they can top having Michelle Obama on the show is by getting her husband next season! Which I totally bet he'd do, because I read somewhere that the Obama family actually watches Parks & Rec together.

Sometimes I think it's not even possible to love this show more, and then Kay Hanley and Ginuwine are sharing a mic singing along to a tribute to Little Sebastian...

Next season is going to be three years in the future, and probably the last season too. I found that out while googling to figure out if that was a season or series finale!
I will be pretty sad if Craig is not back next season. His schtick is really schitcky, BUT FOR SOME REASON I FIND IT HILARIOUS!

omg, a Craig and Jean Ralphio web series would be so great. I loved everything about this episode! Ben watching Letters to Cleo was so perfect, and the West Wing style ending (with Jon Hamm doing a Rob Lowe "LIT-ra-ly") was almost more than I could take.

Oh my god this was the MOST PERFECT EPISODE EVER! It was ALMOST AS GOOD AS THE TIME I GOT INTO A CAB THAT KYRA SEDGWICK WAS GETTING OUT OF!!!
(P.s. I have never identified so strongly with someone as I do with Billy Eichner.)

that episode was so great! (i finally watched it!) ive been a Letters to Cleo fan for so long so when Ben originally had the t shirt on i almost peed my pants. then when i saw Kay posted pics tagged #pawnee on her instagram i almost peed my pants again.

the only weird thing is only 2 actual members of the band were on the show. Only Kay and Greg McKenna were actually in the "band" on the show. i guess everyone else was busy.

i thought it was funny Ginuwine was on it too as Donna's cousin since they talked about it before.

the whole scenario with the triplets is just weird. like it's sort of an aside almost. it makes sense they skipped 3 years into the future so we didnt have to see her be pregnant with triplets.

i loved when the weird accountant guy showed up with patent or whatever for Cones of Dunshire.

i loved Tom asking Kay to take a "youie"

hahahaha great episode

This is actually the only part I didn't like about the episode. I feel like people who have been watching this show for years are emotionally invested in Leslie and Ben, and it's a bummer to not see her pregnant.

I've been watching since the very first episode, and Ben & Leslie are one of my favorite imaginary couples ever, but I was hard-core dreading Leslie's pregnancy and the subsequent newborns. Dreading it. I am thankful that I get to avoid a sitcom pregnancy-and-new-babies storyline made even more oh-so-madcap by triplets.

Totally agreed. I'm invested in Leslie and Ben, but I need another pregnancy/baby storyline on television like I need a hole in my head.

Especially right after we had exactly that storyline with Ann Perkins.

Ooooh okay, I'm outnumbered! I guess that's why they did it that way.

i think the show is more focused on the actual Parks Dept and Leslie's crazy work style so throwing a pregnancy and newborns into the mix might have thrown off the dynamic of the show so i think it makes sense they skipped over it but it does feel odd to just skip something so big.

im also confused why they decided she should have triplets!

what do people think about the very last scene where they are going to Ben's "big day"
i feel like it's some big politcal thing like he's running for mayor of Pawnee or something. otherwise why the tuxedo? also Leslie seems underdressed next to him!

I read an interview with the creator (I think) and he was like, "Because OF COURSE Leslie would knock it out of the park and go overboard on this just as with everything." Something like that, makes sense!

I can't wait for this to come back. Also, I want to hug whoever decided to add in the bit about the copyright to Cones of Dunshire, because when it was getting popular and he DIDN'T have it, I was getting high blood pressure.

I cheered out loud when Ben got the copyright thing for the Cones of Dunshire. That's one of my favorite side stories.

Yo La Tengo as that red-sweatered Bobby Knight Ranger was so weird and awesome. I loved everything about that episode. I love this show. I'm so glad to hear they are doing another season! I wasn't sure with that time jump.

In this Vulture interview, Retta talks about the decision to do the time jump in the finale:
Quote:
I saw Amy Poehler at Aziz Ansari’s birthday party and she was like, “I’m not working with babies, so I told them we’re doing a time jump so I don’t have to work with babies.” She was like, “I just had two kids. I’ve had my share of babies for the last three years. I’m not doing another year of babies. Especially triplets.”

I doubt that's the actual reason behind it, but it made me laugh. Amy doesn't want to work with babies any more than we want to watch babies!

Haha i love it.
So OMG funniest thing! I was watching old episodes and remember when Leslie has that awful date with (then-husband, sigh) Will Arnett allllll the way back in season one or two? And he gives her a MRI? He comments on how good her uterus looks and how she "could totally have triplets if you wanted!" or something. I wonder if the writers even remember that!!
