I watched Salinger. I learned a lot of new things about him but I am not sure if they interest me. Hah.

Finally saw 'Gravity'! Holy crepe was that intense. I had to take my pulse a few times to make sure my heart was ok. No joke. I still don't know how I feel about it. Like it was good, and she was great, but is it 4stars and A+ like everyone is raving? I need to think on it more.

Blue Jasmine - so good, Cate Blanchett amazing. So heartbreaking :(

I saw this yesterday and loved it as well. A lot of similarities with 'A Streetcar Named Desire', and a phenomenal cast. Cate Blanchett looks like a dead cert for an Oscar!

I also just saw 'Like Father, Like Son', a Japanese film about two families who find out their 6 year old sons were actually switched at birth. It's very moving, and weighs in on the good old nature vs nurture debate. Definitely worth a watch.

Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing! I loved it! I still prefer Michael Keaton's Dogberry to Nathan Fillion's, though NF was great. I would definitely recommend it. The language didn't suffer from the setting or the other way around. I just thought it was really well done.

Saw Gravity this afternoon with my nephew. We both enjoyed it. Very intense edge-of-your-seat action and loved the visuals.

Populaire - French film about speed typing and romance and stuff. It was pretty good.

We saw "If I Were You", it was pretty good, we liked it. We also saw "God Bless America" which was a bit strange but ok, I'm not sure I'd watch it again.

rachell37 and I saw that at the Edinburgh film fest!

Speaking of Film Fests, I saw 'The Art of the Steal' at the Philly one this week. Not the recent and same-named docu about the Barnes Museum (which is amazing), mind you, but the comic art heist caper with Matt Dillon, Kurt Russell, and Terrence Stamp. Soo funny, and so much better in the second act when things change and you're like, OH, this isn't just Oceans 11 redux.

Randi, that is funny! My husband couldn't believe I wanted to watch it based on the short description but it sounded fun and I had high hopes since it was a Darko production. It definitely had its moments. In the first part, the scene with the baby... my husband and I looked at each other and wondered what we were watching :)

Therese Desqueyroux - French film with Audrey Tautou as a bored rich woman who tries to kill her husband. It isn't as exciting as it sounds. It was a bit disappointing.

kitten Riot - A Punk Prayer. It was a 90 min documentary on the 3 members' trial, and it was really good. Interesting to see another legal system at work along with the cultural influences on it.

I saw that with monkeytoes and Jojo at the Seattle Film Fest! (Haha it's like I only see movies if it's with PPKers at festivals.) Wasn't it so disturbing, ugh! I hate Putin. Those women are so brave and strong.

Yes, I was really taken aback with the judicial process over there and with how resilient the girls were (particularly Nadia). I DVR'd it ages ago, thinking, "punk music and feminist politics in action, can't wait to watch." Never seemed to be in the mood to watch but finally got around to it, and I was completely captivated. I do wonder how much Putin was behind it and how much was pressure from the ORthodox Church? I was expecting it to be more Putin-heavy, but it seemed like they focused more on the Church's influence.

Watched The Possession the other night and I thought it was pretty good. Nothing compares to the horror flicks of the 80's but I enjoyed this one and thought it was suspenseful. I would have been scared out of my wits if we watched it in the dark.

While husband was out of town I watched The Bling Ring. Oh I wish I had that wasted time of my life back. I normally love Sofia Coppola's movies but this one was just BAD. It was hard to finish.

Trance - I liked it, but it was a bit surreal at times.

Behind the Candelabra - Really interesting, and the acting was really good. There were a couple of actors in it that it took me a second to recognise (like Scott Bakula).

It is a second time watching it but we watched "Safety not Guaranteed". It is a pretty cute movie.

I watched Slacker (first time)
The Lifeguard: I wanted a fluffy comedy but it's quite the opposite which caught me off-guard. but I liked it.
Alice in the Cities (Wim Wenders). I love road movies, so this was right up my alley

Me and my friend watched a film called Midnight Meat Train last weekend. It had Bradley Cooper and Vinnie Jones in so we thought it couldn't be that bad! It was ok but a bit odd. Gory though!

Saving Mr. Banks is going to be the biggest winter movie, calling it. Also it has the greatest poster ever.
