I just watched The Devil's Rejects. I was a bit disappointed as I thought it would be more gory and gruesome, but upon reflection I actually think I liked it better as it was. It seemed more realistic than a lot of the torture porn you see nowadays. And I liked how Rob Zombie tried to make you sympathize with the Firefly family. the acting was pretty bad and there were some awkward, boring moments though.

I just watched The Other Guys...it was hilarious but too long. Today I should have The Kids are All Right. I saw it in the theatre and loved it, but my husband hasn't seen it yet. I'm excited to watch it again.

Master & Commander - liked it a lot...my co worker whose read all the books said it's like a mash of 3 different books. Now I wanna read the books
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - needed to be 40 minutes longer to be as interesting as the book. not much character development and the book is like 80% character and 20% mystery. This time the US movie remake actually may be a good thing

I watched Houseboat last night. I love Cary Grant, but this was a piece of shiitake. I wish I'd paid more attention to the fact that it was a family movie. Those kids were ugly and annoying. I wanted them all to fall in the river.

I just watched Scott Pilgrim. It had some slow parts but it was cute and funny. I liked the Vegan Police. Next up, Winter's Bone.

The last movies I watched were Six String Samurai, Apocalypse Now Redux, I'm Still Here, and Requiem for a Dream. I'm not sure how I felt about Six String Samurai... I loved Apocalypse Now, until the very end. The part with the water buffalo was just... Pathetic. - Respect points for Coppola. I wasn't pleased with Joaquin Phoenix's antics in I'm Still Here, that movie was just a bad joke. Requiem for a Dream was well made, but the intended effect was lost on me. I agree on the character development and film length, though. I also didn't like the "made for TV" feel and the subbing. In spite of all that negativity, I actually liked it.

Yeah, she was great and I did like the movie. I didn't like the actor who played Kalle Blumkvist (sp?) much though

Yeah, I thought he was... Ugly... And he looked OLD. Like... In his 40's? He seemed younger and somewhat charming in the book, but in the movie he looked sleepy and... Snide? I didn't trust his squinty eyes. I think Daniel Craig has been cast as Blomkvist for the US remake. I think I like that. He has a distinct European look, which I think will work.

Rooney Mara is a really good actress but Rapace...holy crepe, she was Lisbeth. And the released on-set pictures of Rooney in the whole Lisbeth getup just look like a pretty girl dressing up for Halloween.

Watched The Science of Sleep last night. I like how it was put together, but overall I wasn't impressed. I also watched You and Me and Everyone We Know, which was pretty good.

Can people not read subtitles? I mean, I'll probably see it but I think it's stupid.

Yes, Wikipedia doesn't have too much to say, but apparently it's coming out soon. Personally I think it's quite unnecessary. I thought it was nice that a Swedish book had been made into a Swedish movie. However, I must admit, I thought the subtitles on the Netflix version I watched were pretty bad. Kind of... Sketchy.
