Aw man, I spelled his name wrong.

Dave was a close second for me, but Bill Pullman's speech in Independence Day still makes me a little weepy.

Before I opened the thread I thought, "I hope she didn't forget Kevin Kline!" so my vote is obvious.

I'm writing in Martin Sheen. I know it's not a movie, but he still wins.

Well, you can just vote for Michael Douglas since that movie was the inspiration for The West Wing and written by Sorkin, too. But yeah, Martin Sheen is awesome, too.

Ooooh I was gonna vote for Morgan Freeman but you're totally right. Jed Bartlet flicks the weasel.

I'm writing in Darth Siddious. Because let's face it, we need a grizzly old sith Lard emperor, not a president.

We almost had that with Dick Cheney, who was supposedly just VP of course.

Without a doubt Michael Douglas, that speech at the endwhere he trounces the Republican & gets the girl is like my fantasy speech.

This poll is mediaist. I demand that we add tv into the mix because Dennis Haysbert is my one true president.

Or I guess Jack Nicholson.

If we're allowed to include TV, then I'm protest voting for Geena Davis.

I feel like TV should be a whole other poll. There are so many! And TV presidents have so much extra screen time to win your love!

is it against the rules to vote for actors who played actual presidents (or former presidents)? i'm having trouble seeing past anthony hopkins, but if i have to pick someone else, i guess it's kevin kline, because it isn't peter sellers, and i haven't seen those other movies. all of this might change after lincoln comes out.

eta: anthony hopkins as j.q. adams! not nixon!

I thought a lot about this, and decided to go with only fictional presidents, because otherwise it becomes about acting, or the policies of actual presidents, you know?
