I'm not hating this one, but I'm not as invested in dear Sammy as you are. It makes sense to me that if he's soulless, he's making some shady choices.

Well and it's not just the shady choices - it's just that it's jumbled and back and forth and doesn't even make sense. I can get soulless and shady.

I want the as promised return to season 1. Immediately. Hence forth cease and desist all previously unknown family nonsense etc.

Yeah, it's definitely not that. It reminds me of season 7 of Buffy, where Joss was all "we're going back to the beginning!" and then 75% of the season was an utter shitshow.

I'm a little confused by something. Do vampires in the Supernatural universe have souls? I assumed that, like in Buffy, once they were turned, their soul was gone. And while he was in the cage, the Alpha Vamp seemed to be implying that vampires don't have souls and therefore go to purgatory. But then he's all up on Sam and talking about how souls are a problem and Sam will be the perfect monster because he doesn't have one, which doesn't make any sense at all unless vampires normally do have souls.

Well remembering when Amber Benson was a vamp on the show and she was part of the gang of good vamps, I'm assuming they do still have souls? Because she and they cared about not causing harm?

I do, but then why would vamps go to purgatory? I'm so confused!

I like that Sam and Dean seem to be mostly back on the same side at the end.

Is there more than one alpha type beasty? Is that what he means by "us?" I haven't been watching this show long enough to understand any of the mythology.

I am confused too. I love Crowley but I don't get this whole soul thing. How is Sam, Sam at all without his soul? Where is his soul? I just... I agggghhhh!!! I don't like this season that much so far.

I was fine with this season until the last suck - I mean, episode.

His soul is still in hell, in the cage with lucifer. Crowley left it there as insurance, I guess. The "where" I get, the "how is it still Sam?" not so much. It isn't? He's clearly different. It's like the basic shell of Sam without any of the lovable cream filling.

I couldn't watch it until last night.

I have no idea what's going on ... but I'm a-okay with everybody being Crowley's bisque forever and ever.

I think I just find this storyline stupid and am overall unimpressed and confused with it. I get it's in the cage but what, is it in lucifer or in a jar or just bouncing around the cage .... ? I just don't get it.

I also wonder if Samuel is doing this to see Mary and Deanna again. He said he had his reasons?
