yeah, i REALLY like this season. i wasn't even going to watch it, but then i started. i really hated the whole angels/apocalypse arc and, while i love cas as a character, i was really hating everything about the whole show.

i'm much happier now that it's the boys and bobby hunting demons like they used to in the early seasons.

There's never an SPN episode on Thanksgiving weekend. says jumblejim.

This Friday's episode is the last one, then a month long hiatus, of reruns I guess, then it's back on Jan. 6th.

Oh, Best Buy had some good sells during BF weekend. Got season 6 for $12.99. It was back-ordered, but I can wait.

No, let's just pretend that at the end of season five they all died heroically, defeating Lucifier. THE END.

I'm so pissed. I wanted to get caught up. My friend used to watch this show, but stopped last season. She heard about that ep and watched it and thought it was the most amazing episode ever and she cried (she thinks that eps that tear her apart are the best--while I hate those eps and love funny ones). So she kept talking about it and telling me to watch it. I told her no and that I would when I got caught up. So she kept dropping hints about what happened and I figured it all out and I'm PISSED. Mainly at her for telling me and also at the show.

I am a new Supernatural fan. I had to spend the past few months at my parents and my mom loves this show. I watched this season with her and became hooked! So now my question is this; is it reasonable to just watch the reruns as they come on or is it imperative that a start from the beginning?

I'd start from the beginning because the beginning is the best part. The show started off doing urban legends, then demons got introduced, then it became this boring heaven and hell thing. But definitely start from the beginning to get all the jokes. This show is pretty hilarious and filled with inside jokes.

As in everything, mileage varies. S4 is my favorite, with S2 and S5 duking it out for 2nd.

I think whether you like the first season depends on how much you like seeing Sam and Dean Winchester act out various horror movies (poltergeist, chainsaw, etc.). For the people who do not like those things, it's better to start off with the last two episodes of S1 (though you do miss out on some establishing characterization, especially with Dean, and S1 is the only time that John isn't the worst dad of all time, but just sorta sucky and obsessed).

ETA - What jokes do you only know if you watch S1? The only ones I can think of are more knowing the actors' previous roles/reoccurring.

To fully understand the mythology start from the beginning, although S1 doesn't delve that much into it. But season 1 is awesome so I think it's still worth watching it from the beginning. Seasons 1-5 are all great, 6 & 7 not so much, but still watchable.

I like the ones where Sammy is shirtless.

Ahem. Okay, really, it all fuzzes together somewhere. Earlier are better than later, but I love them all (I can say that because I still haven't seen the most recent one - lalala).

If you don't watch season one you will miss the best scene of the entire series.
