he said 30 hours and counting or whatever yesterday. today he said that everyone should watch live because it's almost time for NBC to make a decision about keeping it or not.

I generally watch on Hulu, but will watch live if it makes a difference. Its one of the best written shows on TV - it actually has a ton of consistency (ahem Glee?).

Also, I cried at the end. I feel so sad for Julia and Joel! And I'm glad that Kristina and Gabby worked things out.

I cry during most of the episodes, but that's not saying much. A car commercial could probably make me cry.

I am trying so hard to stay awake for Hattie and Alex going to prom and getting all sexy. Seriously, you could do so much worse than Alex for your first. Or second. Or last. ::drools a little::

totally love this show; it's so real and relationshippy, and i'm sad that it's on the bubble. i hope they renew it.

I'm glad this is such a well-written show and I hope that they take the Hattie having sex line and have it actually be empowering for the character. Sure she is young, but she made a decision to have sex on her own terms, and I would hate it to devolve into the usual she gets accidentally pregnant, he leaves her, she has to deal with the abortion issue or adoption etc on her own blahblahblah.
I think it would be great to see how it affects her relationship with Alex and how they navigate all the complicated wrappings around sex and what it means, but without all the angstydrama television generally projects on teens having pre-marital sex.
Also, they are doing a great job with Amber and her self-sabotaging tendencies, and how lost and upset she is feeling, but I was hoping for something more subtle than the car accident we saw in the previews.

that was a great episode! the preview for next week with the dramatic music was DUUUUMB.
also, i freaking hate crosby. he's such a crasshole. everything he does is so selfish and it bugs me that in the preview adam went to help him with the house. I know you have to support your family, but crosby needs so much tougher love from them than what he's getting.
and tofulish, i agree with you about your hopes for how hattie's storyline progresses. hopefully it won't be super dramatic.

Tofulish - I totally agree about Hattie and Amber. Deciding to have sex with your boyfriend in what seems to be a loving relationship so far, isn't always the worst thing in the world. I also hope they do not go the route of preggers / abortion / adoption, but instead show how it affects their relationship.
I thought the same thing when I saw the preview with Amber and the car crash. It seem so dramatic and a little over the top. But we'll see I suppose!

I watch this show every so often but even so I am always riveted. Decided to watch this one from the beginning and wow, it is gooood. It's like the dramatic version of Modern Family in that all cast members, the adults and the children, are amazing actors.

NOOOO she better not be pregnant! And, why didn't they talk to her about going on birth control anyway? Why did her mom pressure her to tell her that she was having sex, and then not give her any information on how to protect herself? What was the point? What a great episode though.
