I'm breaking my own cardinal rule by talking about/planning for the winter holidays before Thanksgiving is over, but while trawling YouTube just now I just thought of how much fun it would be to make a mix tape (ok, a mix 'DVD') of the best holiday scenes from movies/tv or the best scenes from holiday movies/tv. Why watch the rest of the boring stuff when you can cut to the chase?

Here's the thread for you to contribute your favorite scenes (and because it's me, I say the more what the fizzle the better) for a holiday video montage!

I'll kick things off with this golden classic of nuclear family happiness from one of my favorite movies ever, John Waters' Female Trouble. I love how there's just a random dog hanging out on the sidewalk in front of the house on a cold Baltimore Christmas morning.

Technically, I'd watch this full movie after the mix tape, but this is also one of my favorite scenes:

YES!!! I love you and this!!! My favorite is of course from my favorite movie, "You've Got Mail", when we shift from the godawful xmas time at Joe's house to the lovely and warm carol singing at Kathleen's. My brother and I will say 'THE HORN. THE HORN. THE HORN." at really any opportune moment.
