I wasn't that into the finale. I kinda wish Silas would have stayed off the plane. The only thing I liked was Andy, Silas, and Shane when they realized Nancy was staying behind. Nancy still has to do a whole lot before I can even begin to like her again.

Welp, I quit watching this about 4 or 5 shows ago. It just wasn't doing it for me. That makes me kinda sad.

I understand why some viewers feel the show lost its way after the end of season 3, but I think it picked back up this most recent season, though I'm one of the few who have enjoyed the entire run. I was under the impression the series was ending, but it looks like they'll do at least one more season.
The missus cried when they got rid of "Little Boxes" for the theme.

I'm just finishing Season 5 and I still like it. I've been laughing a lot! When am I going to start hating Nancy?

Cool! The time change was unexpected for me. Then it felt really weird with Nancy being in a lesbian relationship, Silas being a model, and Shane being a puppeteer. Like...whaaaat happened to the normalcy of the early seasons?
And is she an arms dealer now? I was confused on that bit. So that "what the fork" was more about being confused because they fit a lot into half an hour. Haha.

i didn't think she was a lesbian so much as she was trying to stay alive and take advantage of that woman, considering her girlfriend's violent past and connection to arms dealers or something. i thought that what happened to silas and shane was really weird and unbelievable, though.
i'm so happy that they just completely got rid of esteban and all of that right off the bat.

Something seemed way too convenient about her release and there were no real details. But that relationship was totally forked so I hope it's true. I really couldn't get over how much older Shane looked. How tall is that kid now?!

I don't know, I wasn't so surprised that Silas ended up being a male model... maybe just because he is that pretty. Also, I thought it figured taht Shane was in a relationship with an older woman, since he sort of lost Nancy.
As much as I have loved the show, I am getting kind of sick of it. I just want some resolution, just a wee tiny little itsy bit, but it seems like the hole keeps getting bigger and deeper.

TheAmazonProject wrote: Just watched it. That Nancy never learns! Seriously. I really hope this isn't like last season where she gets more and more annoying. I was pretty proud of Silas in that interview. It was the most honest I've seen him in forever. I always felt really bad for him and, especially, Shane. They never had any real role models. So glad that Shane is far less on the verge of serial killerdom this season.

Ok, I'm trying not to read all the posts in this thread because I'm in the middle of catching up with season 5 on DVD right now. I can't afford Showtime in my cable package, and I don't like watching edited re-runs of the show on other cable channels, so I've been away from Weeds for about 18 months. I was getting a little tired of the show in season 4, but boredom (and the fact that season 5 of Dexter isn't out on DVD yet) drew me back to Weeds, so I've been catching up with what's going on.
While I have to admit, the show is still enjoyable and much of it still cracks me up in a sick, sad way, I'm growing a little tired of Nancy Botwin's character. I guess I have a little trouble relating to a character who is basically a man-magnet for every guy she encounters (and supposedly has been since junior high), and is also one of those women who courts trouble in the worst way. Yeah, she manages to find her way out of it, often using her own wits. But the whole man-magnet/trouble doll thing, I just can't relate to any more. It's not me and never has been, and I guess I'm at a point in my life where I prefer watching shows about women characters who I can relate to. I'll keep watching to find out what happens, because I do love a juicy story. But I can't say that I see anything of myself in Nancy Botwin, and eventually the show's writers may lose me as a fan.
