Great article I read while doing laundry. More specifically, I loved how they critiqued the Food Network's representation of women cooks...chefs...I mean cooks!

What do you think? They point out Los Angeles as being an exception to the rule. Do you know any female chefs that are able to break the mold? Post them here!

This is crazy, I thought that whole entire article yesterday and now it has appeared. But yeah, the world is really sexist. The food world even more so. I have to read that article in bits because it peas me off deeply.

The first thing this makes me think of is that terrible Daily Mail piece about why women aren't good cooks. It's like they're the same piece, except one is written with actual critical thought and the other is written deeply entrenched in cultural norms.

I really want to read it, but I also really don't want to get pissed off. Let me get through this beer first.

Looked at through the lens of the article Isa linked, it's actually kind of amusing how well the Daily Mail argument is picked apart and how unaware the author seems.
